Can any of the Brexit party supporting leavers on here tell us why?

But Sinn Fein don't go to Westminster. And since when did Brexshit Party twats want to equate themselves with the party that were the political wing of the IRA?
Or is that just desperate Quitlings on here with no actual knowledge of NI scrabbling around for comparisons.

Cittadina · 19/09/2019 20:14

"Is it not the same as Sinn Fein MPs boycotting Westminster, everyone pretty much accepts that?"

Because the narrative IS different, you ignorant person. Nobody had actually used gun fire against oyu like with the Irish hasn't it?

You know, I am a historian. I get to write history, literally. Oh I am going to enjoy writing about all this.

Mistigri · 19/09/2019 20:15

Sinn Fein don't attend parliament and don't take their salaries. BXP MEPs do.

Do you think they abstained on the vote about giving the UK an A50 extension?

LOL! Now I'm going to have to go and find out.

Wow, I thought leavers were supposed to be the nasty ‘side’ in all this. I asked a neutral question. If it’s not the same then maybe explain why without calling people names.

Mistigri · 19/09/2019 20:35

Do you think they abstained on the vote about giving the UK an A50 extension?

As far as I can tell, they voted AGAINST the A50 extension motion.

So it is not true that they abstain from all votes - which means that abstaining from the Zaghari-Ratcliffe vote was an active decision.

(I was prepared to hear that they abstain consistently - but they don't.)

OP posts:
Mistigri · 19/09/2019 20:36

I thought they abstained on every vote

This does not appear to be correct.

It doesn't look as if they are consistently abstaining on everything, which would suggest that they are, as expected, racist twats. So would everyone on this thread who has thus far given them the benefit of the doubt please now comment?

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 19/09/2019 21:42

Oh thats fucking awful

ConorMcGregorsChin · 19/09/2019 21:43

As usual, the people who don't know about this case (and it's history / background) totally dismiss it as propaganda.
Yet they try to silence people who are actually concerned about human beings.
Yea, @Chloemol I'm talking about you.

How long can they sink?

Chloemol · 20/09/2019 00:40

@Cittadina. wow, nowhere in my post is anything racist, just a simple suggestion to ask the actual people who abstained why they did rather than a group of mnetters guessing.

You know nothing about me, and don’t dare call me a racist twat, you don’t know what racism I have suffered

Mistigri · 20/09/2019 06:52

Actually I think that contacting your BXP MEP to ask why they abstained is a very good idea.

They will probably say that they abstain systematically, but this is not true as the day before the Nazanin vote, they voted against another motion.

twofingerstoEverything · 20/09/2019 07:51

they appear to have been voting to support the extension of Article 50 on 18th September, so it is clearly NOT Brexit Party policy to abstain on everything.

I wrote to all my MEPs when they turned their backs on the parliament. I am disgusted to be represented by this bunch of immature dickheads. I got two replies at that time - neither from any of the Brexit representatives. Clearly the Brexit MEPs are there to represent their own interests and are unaccountable/unresponsive to their constituents. Like other posters, I'm going to take their mass abstension as an indicator of their - not even thinly veiled - racism.

twofingerstoEverything · 20/09/2019 08:09

So, I've written to my MEPs, including Nigel Farage (ugh!). I hope others do the same.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 20/09/2019 08:20

In all honesty, I don’t think enough people are interested in this case. And that includes people on the remain side, many of whom haven’t even heard of her.

The brexit party are interested in brexit, not much else.

onalongsabbatical · 20/09/2019 08:46

They disgust me. I await their excuses, but it seems to me they are willing to use Nazanin as a pawn in their own political games, which makes them, in my eyes, no better than Iran.

Princessdebthe1st · 20/09/2019 08:58

From the Independent: *Brexit Party spokesman Gawain Towler told The Independent: “It would be incompatible with what we believe, to assume that the EU is the right place or the most effective tool with which to put pressure on the Iranian government.

“And we could not in all honesty and in all decency say the EU is the best forum for that, so we abstained. He added: “If one was to vote in favour, [people would say] ‘ooh the Brexit Party wants the EU to do this, that and the other.’ “So we abstained.”*

A pathetic excuse but an excuse nonetheless.

jasjas1973 · 20/09/2019 09:06

I can see the logic in their argument, after all, voting on an international humanitarian issue would be accepting the EU has power, influence and can be a force for good.

But then on the other hand, given their beliefs, its highly hypocritical to go and take their seats.... unless of course they want the salary and perks.... nah, couldn't be that.

onalongsabbatical · 20/09/2019 09:10

So yes they're sing her as a pawn.
Words fucking fail me.

onalongsabbatical · 20/09/2019 09:11

Using not sing. Buggering keyboard.

MaryPoppinsUmberellaHandle · 20/09/2019 19:37

I'm sickened by them all. They are a disgrace. Although, they're very happy to be taking the money.

I plan on doing the same twofingers
