From Flamingos to Yellowhammer and Black Swans.

The Tory Remainer is now a Dodo. Instead the party in inhabited by disaster capitalist Vultures. Jeremy Corbyn, meanwhile, has been labelled by the right wing press as a Chicken. The SNP would very much like Boris Johnson to be a Jailbird. The LDs are keen to sing like Canaries about the contents of BlackSwan. The Br

And the Tower of London is starting to get very jumpy about the whereabouts and location of its Ravens.

I would not, however, advise eating urban wild pigeons if things get desperate, from what I know of their health.

Quite common historically for toffs to privately educate the Male children, but not the female.

The mitford family were a fascinating example of this....and our own dear RF, of course.

prettybird · 13/09/2019 19:01

When I was at St Andrews, both as a student and working there in the holidays, I can across lots of such "upper class" sexist families. Private education for the boys and state for the girls. Justified on the basis that the boys needed the discipline and the girls would do "ok" wherever they went to school.

pumkinspicetime · 13/09/2019 19:04

I'm with basil but surely the whole country leave or remain can unite around the certainty that he is a prick?

CrunchyCarrot · 13/09/2019 19:13

What do the EU say ?

They say we can't have a unicorn but we can have a pony. I don't think Johnson knows how to look after a pony, much less a unicorn. Grin

BigChocFrenzy · 13/09/2019 19:17

This is what the EU think:

JeSuisPoulet · 13/09/2019 19:20

Chruncy he's good with bullshit though Wink

Cameron is only trying to promote his book. He doesn't give a shit as long as he can make more £££ playing the innocent victim card.

BigChocFrenzy · 13/09/2019 19:23

Cameron should have been truthful and concise:

"I fucked it all up and then I ran away, leaving my shit behind to go toxic"

JeSuisPoulet · 13/09/2019 19:23

Wow, just wow govt maritime promotion

We've definitely got stuck in a time warp somewhere over the last 3 years.

BigChocFrenzy · 13/09/2019 19:32

Wherever Cameron touts his book, his now infamous 2015 Tweet

  • warning of chaos if Ed Miliband became PM -

needs to be beamed on the wall outside

< dreams of an alternate reality in which Miliband defeated Cameron in 2015 .... >

"I was pondering how important it is to be able to display a point of view in a non-criminal way"

DG Remember when Blair was slow handclapped by the WI ? Grin
Even a very smooth performer like him couldn't do much

BJ or any of the shower leading us now would probably just go into a bright red, turkey-gobbing huff

Emilyontmoor · 13/09/2019 19:36

There have been various mumblings about one or other of the changlings being parachuted into Vince Cable’s seat on his retirement. Once it was an all female shortlist that was even more concerning since the seat was so recently held by a moderate remainer Tory, virtually indistinguishable from the female ex Tories. It would certainly would be very risky to field an ex labour candidate in a seat with very few labour voters, however erm charismatic. Pleased to see they have opted for a local candidate, who was a hard working Councillor who lives in and worked for the side of the borough that is often overlooked in an otherwise, with one other exception, solidly affluent constituency.

BigChocFrenzy · 13/09/2019 19:38

JeSuis Grayling has left Transport, but seems to have left his spawn behind

Myriade · 13/09/2019 19:42

Politicians in Germany and elsewhere in the EU still saying No Deal is the most likely outcome
But the markets seem to have relaxed a lot and the pound has gone back up. Which means they are not as worried now about No Deal as they were in August.

This is the one situation where I’m listening to them. They somehow seem to have a better visions of what’s going in and what the future will hold.

thecatfromjapan · 13/09/2019 19:48

Personally, I think the likelihood of No Deal has fallen, & PV has risen substantially.

But, yes, it is all very, as they say, 'fluid'.

BigChocFrenzy · 13/09/2019 19:55

Tom Newton Dunn@tnewtondunn

This is the crux of Cameron's defence, and why he doesn't regret holding the EU referendum:
one was inevitable, as the nation was split, he says.

It wasn't though.
Before, polls proved most voters didn't really give a stuff.
They only polarised once the campaign invited them to.

< then continued to get ever more polarised because of the political vacuum that grew out of control as soon as he ran away >

BigChocFrenzy · 13/09/2019 20:00

The chance of an extension has risen, hence Sterling,
but EU figures have continued to say no Deal is the most likely eventual outcome

Eventually the HoC has to let Boris have his GE
With a No Deal manifesto
Against Corbyn - who also has to fight off Swinson's LDems

ListeningQuietly · 13/09/2019 20:12

chance on an extension
Que?
Show me that in a French / German / Spanish / Italian / Polish paper then I might believe it.
The level of delusion in the UK press is shocking

boatyardblues · 13/09/2019 20:16

Red’s OP is quite chirpy in the the circumstances.

I’ll get my coat...

JeSuisPoulet · 13/09/2019 20:16

Am actually loving that CumFace told reporters to "get out of London" and "talk to people who are not rich remainers" only to send BoZo up North for the journo's to witness him be heckled everywhere he goes by people on the street Grin

mrslaughan · 13/09/2019 20:17

Re; election
I was talking to a friend today who is a vehement remainers, but has always voted Tory. Leave is going to fuck his business. He now cannot stand the Tories. He hates Corbyn- with a passion BUT said he will vote labour in the next election as in his view "Corbyn May fuck us for a few years, but leave will screw us forever"
This is a massive move.
I had been thinking that I may vote Labour for exactly that reason.....
It's an interesting movement, and there can't just be two of us....

Bearbehind · 13/09/2019 20:26

He hates Corbyn- with a passion BUT said he will vote labour in the next election as in his view "Corbyn May fuck us for a few years, but leave will screw us forever"

It shouldn’t be like that though

We should have a decent opposition who people actively chose - not a complete fuckwit who people have to hold their nose to support, because many won’t so they won’t win.

Ellie56 · 13/09/2019 20:27

“I think about this every day. Every single day I think about it, the referendum and the fact that we lost and the consequences and the things that could have been done differently, and I worry desperately about what is going to happen next.” (David Cameron)

Good. So he should bloody worry. I hope he doesn't sleep at night. This mess is all his fault. He should never have held the referendum in the first place. Stupid twat. Angry

Peregrina · 13/09/2019 20:29

and I worry desperately about what is going to happen next.” (David Cameron)

But don't bother - the money you and your wife have will insulate you from the worse effects.

mrslaughan · 13/09/2019 20:32

@Bearbehind I completely agree - but that's unfortunately not the position we are in.
I didn't read the article, but my sister was talking about an article in the times last weekend (Sunday times) about how there are small organisations within the Labour Party springing up who are looking at working to de-select the more moderate labour MP's..... did anyone read it? Is it true? How does it work?

OhLookHeKickedTheBall · 13/09/2019 20:37

and I worry desperately about what is going to happen next.” (David Cameron)
Maybe if you hadn't abandoned ship and had enough about you to acknowledge the too close result and put some action in then worry about what happens next wouldn't be an issue for you Dave. Not to mention dividing the country to solve your party's internal conflict. Oh btw, hows that working you giant twatbadger

Sorry, needed to vent.
