From Flamingos to Yellowhammer and Black Swans.

The Tory Remainer is now a Dodo. Instead the party in inhabited by disaster capitalist Vultures. Jeremy Corbyn, meanwhile, has been labelled by the right wing press as a Chicken. The SNP would very much like Boris Johnson to be a Jailbird. The LDs are keen to sing like Canaries about the contents of BlackSwan. The Br

And the Tower of London is starting to get very jumpy about the whereabouts and location of its Ravens.

I would not, however, advise eating urban wild pigeons if things get desperate, from what I know of their health.

For some reason, my spidey senses say to keep an eye on the Boris/ERG relationship. Because I really don't think they're on the same page, and it's going to kick off fairly soon. Now Boris is PM, and Cummings is setting the agenda, what is the use of the ERG ? Especially if they are still intent on no-dealing, and Boris wants to talk about dealing ?

BigChocFrenzy · 13/09/2019 16:16

"Why is this idiot still saying that we are leaving on 31 October"

Still the most likely outcome

  • because it requires the HoC to take an action they still can't agree on

I expect BJ will use all legal avenues to delay extending, but then resign as PM around 19 October

  • imo this will be before the Kinnock Amendment mandates a WA vote, so we lose that escape too

Then, the Rebel Alliance must agree & vote on a replacement PM within a few days - Queenie's approval may be delayed by legal challenges

If they can't do this in time to request - & obtain - an extension from the EU, then
there will be an automatic No Deal at 11pm on 31 October, with a GE automatically called 14 days after BJ resigned

DGRossetti · 13/09/2019 16:18

Jeremy Clarkson

Who came out as a remainer ...

BigChocFrenzy · 13/09/2019 16:18

Politicians in Germany and elsewhere in the EU still saying No Deal is the most likely outcome

The UK media & these threads have always been much more optimistic than outside the UK

I hope it's justified

Jesuispoulet I don't know how to share links on my phone Blush. If you search 'Stocksbridge' on Twitter it comes up.

pumkinspicetime · 13/09/2019 16:25

must admit, you have to question the judgement of any Tory who thought he'd get a good reception in Doncaster,

This is the confusion in thinking that voting leave equals liking Tories. It is a while since the pits shut but there is still bad feeling.

Clarkson is very clear that leaving the EU on the say so of "a few coffin dodgers in Barnsley" is a very stupid idea.

JeSuisPoulet · 13/09/2019 16:26

Violet I found a clip with a man who sounds like Baldrick shouting out - faint whiff of BoZo calling him special needs at the end which was a bit Shock is that it?

prettybird · 13/09/2019 16:26

I've posted this before but it seems appropriate to post again Wink - sent to me by my 83 year old dad Grin

NB: don't play with the volume on if you are in earshot of the easily offended Wink

A friend has shared a video on Twitter of the time Dominic Cummings said that the Tories don't care about the poor or the NHS. Journalists and Labour MPs should be reminding everyone of this. Really need to work out how to share links on here.

JeSuisPoulet it's not that footage. Angela Smith MP (former Change UK) has shared the clip from today at Stocksbridge so you could try looking up her on Twitter.

DGRossetti · 13/09/2019 16:36

This is the confusion in thinking that voting leave equals liking Tories.

I wasn't thinking of Brexit when I made that comment. I was thinking of the fact that generally - with some very intense examples - Tories aren't that well viewed in the north.

in fact a prominent (if not the prominent) Brexiteer from the leave campaign getting a pasting in such a heavy leave area as Doncaster (61% leave) should give Boris, Cummings and Farage pause for thought. Or what passes for thinking at that level of humanity.

JeSuisPoulet · 13/09/2019 16:37

Got it - shame, they were getting coordinated into a chant at the very end of the video...GrinStocksbridge

DGRossetti · 13/09/2019 16:39

The Harry Potter (barrister not magician) doc on BBC4.

When you've watched it can you summarise ? Because I did, and I still haven't really got the faintest idea what exactly common law actually is. Seriously. I know it predates Norman law (and indeed is distinct from Norman law) but beyond that ... no, still can't get it. Despite trying to read and grasp the Wiki pages and associated commentaries online, it remains a mystery to me.

JeSuisPoulet · 13/09/2019 16:40

Here's the clip from Rotherham aka the one where Boris implies heckler has special needs Hmm to a room full of laughter at the end...

DGRossetti · 13/09/2019 16:40

Bear in mind that is actually a pull for some voters.

DGRossetti · 13/09/2019 16:41

the one where Boris implies heckler has special needs

like a poor mans Trump.

blibblibs · 13/09/2019 16:44

I wish I'd gone for my shopping today, heckling BJ would have made my year 😁

Violetparis · 13/09/2019 16:45

JeSuisPoulet Smile Watching it again, I think it is probably a mixed reception at best, there were some people shaking his hand but it was certainly not the rousing Brexity welcome he wanted. The shouts of Liar are really loud and funny and oh so true !

JeSuisPoulet · 13/09/2019 16:45

So far my Heckling Highlight out of the building montage, was the one where people threw plastic balls at him as he scurried past Grin. Never fails to raise a smile.
