tobee He and Nicky Morgan both backed the recent plan - full of arrogance & delusion - from an ERG-type thinktank to handle the Irish border

Both keep falling for this stupidity

Oakenbeach · 30/06/2019 22:48

Totally pointless waste of time, when the clock is ticking

Agreed, it’s all a waste of time, but even if she doesn’t really believe what she’s doing has a chance of working, she has to show to others she’s done everything conceivably possible to resolve matters.

It’s displacement activity really...

BigChocFrenzy · 30/06/2019 22:48

Varadkar, said Johnson would receive a “fair hearing” should he become PM next month.

“But we also need to make sure that everyone in the UK understands what we mean when we say that withdrawal agreement with the backstop cannot be reopened,”

BigChocFrenzy · 30/06/2019 22:58

The party of business now telling business they should be prepared to see their companies go bust to ensure a no-deal Brexit 🤦🏻‍♀️

How did they descend to these depths ?

Stupid even from a bolshy teenager just discovering politics, but from a TORY candidate for PM ? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Whisky2014 · 30/06/2019 22:59

Pmk

Hazardtired · 30/06/2019 23:42

It's unlikely I'll keep up but PMK!

lonelyplanetmum · 30/06/2019 23:51

The party of business now telling business* they should be prepared to see their companies go bust to ensure a no-deal Brexit*

I'll admit I'm even less up to speed than normal ... and I have no time for Jezza H.

However am I the only one who thinks that the go bust comment is actually an improvement?

•Johnson still feeds the 'greatest thing since sliced bread' brigade.

•May tried to suppress the impact assessments, refused to overtly acknowledge the blow to the pound (and the economy). She only privately said to JC "well they voted for it".

So isn't Hunt being more honest, more realistic and more accurate than both the above? Isn't calling a spade a spade a step in the right direction?

yolofish · 01/07/2019 00:29

I'm with you on that lonelyplanetmum in that at least JH is being honest about the impact. Seems like an extreme game of brinksmanship though, and I'm not sure the message is getting through to those who do not want to hear.

mathanxiety · 01/07/2019 00:35

Good luck with your move, RTB.

If you believe hard enough, your IKEA wardrobes will practically assemble themselves Wink

Icantreachthepretzels · 01/07/2019 01:43

How can anybody tout a JC premiership as some awful economic ruin bogeyman when a Tory PM hopeful is publicly declaring that British businesses should accept bankruptcy as being a sacrifice worth making for brexit?

I'm afraid the time has come (is actually long since past) where we just need to section the entire tory party. They are certifiably insane - and people are just letting them get away with it!

NoWordForFluffy · 01/07/2019 07:03

Is JH's tactic of 'telling it as it will be', but in a way which shows he 'means business' / will deliver Brexit come what may, a way to show that Project Fear actually = reality? I'm trying to work out if he really thinks it'll be 'worth it' or he's basically reiterating the 'they voted for pain' message more bluntly.

Is it some form of reverse psychology to turn the 'We want no deal!' shouts from the masses?

Or is that unlikely?

lonelyplanetmum · 01/07/2019 07:05

I'm with you on that lonelyplanetmum in that at least JH is being honest about the impact. Seems like an extreme game of brinksmanship though,

I'm not sure he intended it as brinkmanship wouldn't that mean pursuing Brexit to the limits of safety before stopping?

I think it's more of a 'they voted for it and that's what they are going to get.

Whilst it's still insane, I'm much happier with openness about the consequences.

lonelyplanetmum · 01/07/2019 07:07

Cross posted with you Fluffy

I think it's basically reiterating the 'they voted for pain' message more bluntly.

RedToothBrush · 01/07/2019 07:07

If you believe hard enough, your IKEA wardrobes will practically assemble themselves

Up early and have discovered this morning that the 10 drawers we bought (and I have assembled) are none compatible with our wardrobe units.

Someone (DH) picked the wrong fucking ones.

No amount of believing is going to fix this. DH is now proposing we buy another wardrobe unit for the 10 drawers for another room and buy another 10 drawers the right size.

It's exactly like Brexit.

Nobody laugh.

Please.

bellinisurge · 01/07/2019 07:12

Oh @RedToothBrush BlushConfused. Do you live close enough to an IKEA to ask them in person for a suggestion - a return?
Not laughing. Really. It's horrible.

Iambuffy · 01/07/2019 07:12

Off to minor injuries as ds1 has broken his finger.

I see JH has a £6billon relief fund for businesses for the disaster that is Brexit.

You couldn't make it up.

lonelyplanetmum · 01/07/2019 07:12

DH is now proposing we buy another wardrobe unit for the 10 drawers for another room and buy another 10 drawers the right size.

Oh Red...

Your DHs solution is quite practical though.

Iambuffy · 01/07/2019 07:15

Is he an engineer by any chance, red?

Sounds like the sort of solution my dh would come up with and why I often want to stab him in the eye with a fork

Lisette1940 · 01/07/2019 07:15

How frustrating Red - on top of the moving stress too.

Thanks for your Brexit updates X.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/07/2019 07:16

Oh bloody hell. That's a whole lot of flat pack, Red. 😱

Bearing in mind you can't take build drawers back unless they're faulty though, I think I'll have to agree with your DH. On the proviso that he builds the damn things.

Buffy, how did your DS do that? Hopefully strapping them up won't take long out of your day.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/07/2019 07:16

Built, not build. Autocorrect is a knobber.

RedToothBrush · 01/07/2019 07:19

I don't want another fucking wardrobe! We just have to build it.

Nor do I wish to return to IKEA.
(Though thankfully its not too far and isn't 200 miles away)

I also have another 10 drawers to make 😑
I never want to see another flat pack ever again.

RedToothBrush · 01/07/2019 07:21

Is he an engineer by any chance, red?

No he's not. But he generally thinks like that.

BigChocFrenzy · 01/07/2019 07:30

Oh no, red what a pita !

Console yourself with thinking of what Mrs Grayling must go through ! 😂

btw, If you have a cellar or some such space, extra cupboards there are very handy for storage of clothes for the other 3 seasons - I do that.

BigChocFrenzy · 01/07/2019 07:33

At least your DH doesn't keep buying ferries !

I read that - having paid out our money in compensaton both for breaking purchasing rules and then the penalty for not using the space reserved -

Grayling is now trying to buy space again for November onwards ....
