The Brexit Party are doing really well in the polls. I just hope they do as well in the election.
I think their slogan should be "Tell them again".
I would like to see a clean sweep of Brexiteers but I know that is not going to happen.
I have sent off my postal vote.

Well Europeans and North Africans / Middle Easterners were involved in building Hadrian's wall so that is a just under 2000, years at least.
'Romans' covered most of the UK.

Mistigri · 20/05/2019 17:49

"The people are generally stupid and wrong," according to James Bartholemew, MEP candidate for the South East.

(There are quite a few of these now. Check out thebrexitparty.com/ )

People like Farage and his tiny cotterie of Brexit Party members openly despise their supporters (who have given them £25 for nothing) and voters.

When Farage was in UKIP he complained about having to deal with "low grade people". Why do these "low grade people" continue to fawn over this charlatan?

Peregrina · 20/05/2019 18:28

Perhaps it's because people who once considered themselves a bit better have deserted the Tory party. There was always a fascistic element in the upper and upper middle classes.

But why the people of Sunderland fawn over him - well, do they? How many did he get on his march? 100 or so. And now he's been 'milkshaked' in Newcastle, not a million miles away from Sunderland. (Don't tell the people of Newcastle that, because it upsets them.)

PortiaCastis · 20/05/2019 19:26

An opinion poll stating a party has polled 33% does not mean that party is going to win what about the other 67% clearly only a third of people say they'll vote for farridge so how is that a win?
There was terrible trouble in N.I at Easter and Lyra was murdered so we really cannot say they'll be no bombings as it's very likely.
Farridge was milkshaked well oh dear how sad never mind what a waste of a milkshake though and here that awful Benjamin bloke was fished but you know if you preach hate and advocate rape 9/10 folk are gonna throw something even if it is deemed to be assault, people do not want to go out in their lunch break and hear racism and hatred as it's disgusting.
Anyway still cannot find any good reasons why leaving will make mine or dds life better, anybody got any?

jasjas1973 · 20/05/2019 20:13

No one in their right mind can say that 33% for a single issue party is a clear signal to "get on with it" whatever that means?

Remain and Leave parties total polling shows a slight lead for remain, shall we "get on with that?"

From the brexitiers i know, they've all lost interest and say they aren't voting, the one that is, is voting Green.

time4chocolate · 20/05/2019 20:33

You’ve got to admit though, polling at 33% is quite an achievement for a party that is only a few weeks old . If Change UK were polling at those levels I’m sure you’d all be cock a hoop.

1tisILeClerc · 20/05/2019 21:09

Farage has had 6 or 7 previous attempts at being a leader and this time he has been seriously bankrolled by others.
He was shit at being an MEP.

Clavinova · 20/05/2019 21:25

Only found this out yesterday - the EU budget chief wants to reduce the UK's annual rebate to zero even if we stay in the EU - yet another reason to leave;

Coppersulphate · 20/05/2019 21:28

33% is an amazing achievement.
I think any supporter of any other party would be delighted with that poll.

Well, I am delighted.

Glad you're glad. Meanwhile the grown ups have to get on with the actual business of politics.

bellinisurge · 20/05/2019 21:35

Ah yes @Clavinova cut and paste factory. A story from October 2018. A lot has happened since then. Maybe you haven't noticed.

1tisILeClerc · 20/05/2019 21:35

{Well, I am delighted.}

Obviously easily pleased.
Now, how about some good things that Farage is going to do to improve the UK.
I must say that paying Farage so much money to 'get back democracy' that we hadn't actually lost is rather expensive.
Bit like paying someone £50 when they tell you that the toast is in the toaster, where you put it.

Mistigri · 20/05/2019 21:37

their supporters (who have given them £25 for nothing)

There's very little evidence that grassroots supporters have given them any money at all. I'd be astonished if they had collected more than a few thousand pounds from individual supporters.

1tisILeClerc · 20/05/2019 21:38
Here you go, a bit of music.
SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 20/05/2019 21:41

Just wanting to leave for the sake of winning the argument is the stupidest thing I've ever heard!

Westminister has nothing "coming" you fools! It will still be there.

Nigel Farage is as dodgy and corrupt as they come.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU??? AngryAngryAngryAngrySadSadSadSadAngryAngryAngryAngryConfusedConfusedConfused

PortiaCastis · 20/05/2019 21:43

Still waiting for someone to answer my question!

jasjas1973 · 20/05/2019 21:51

Still unable to consider the remaining 67% who don't share your delight.

The national socialists needed idiots to vote for them, you'd have thought we may have learned something from history......

1tisILeClerc · 20/05/2019 21:54

PortiaCastis
Something else to listen to while we wait.

ContinuityError · 20/05/2019 22:18

33% of the electorate or 33% of those intending to vote? Because these are quite different things.

UKIP managed 26.6% on a 35.6% turnout in the 2014 election, so a whopping 9.5% of the electorate.

PortiaCastis · 20/05/2019 22:26

Ah thanks Leclerc. Some appropriate lyrics there Smile

Coppersulphate · 20/05/2019 22:30

Just read the westministers thread.
Funnily enough there are a lot of remainers on there very worried about how well the Brexit party are doing in the polls.
But on this thread you are all saying that it doesn't matter.

Peregrina · 20/05/2019 22:42

If Change UK were polling at those levels I’m sure you’d all be cock a hoop.

Nope - at the moment they are a handful of MPs who have fallen out with their old parties, but haven't get begun to forge a collective set of policies about what they would like.

You’ve got to admit though, polling at 33% is quite an achievement for a party that is only a few weeks old .

No Farage has been around for 20 odd years, 7 failed attempts at Westminster tell you roughly how long, and all he has done is repackaged UKIP.

time4chocolate · 20/05/2019 23:15

Peregrina so are you are telling me if CUK (a staunchly remain party who have candidates in the Euro elections) were polling at 33% that you wouldn’t be happy - pull the other one!!

I think your brain may have popped it’s leotard on for that post Wink
