The Brexit Party are doing really well in the polls. I just hope they do as well in the election.
I think their slogan should be "Tell them again".
I would like to see a clean sweep of Brexiteers but I know that is not going to happen.
I have sent off my postal vote.

I don't think I'm exceptionally rude. But I do realise now that Leave posters are very sensitive.

1tisILeClerc · 16/05/2019 15:34

This fine lady was married to the man who 'invented' the methods of producing fertiliser, helping to feed the world's population.
I agree this is a random thing to be putting here, but if anyone makes a quick search of this they might start to understand that the world is more complicated than many think.
She complained of being subservient to her husband, helping out translating his work into English along with running the home.

{Clara Immerwahr (21 June 1870 – 2 May 1915) was a German chemist of Jewish descent.[1] She was the first woman to be awarded a doctorate in chemistry in Germany, and is credited with being a pacifist as well as a women's rights activist.[2] From 1901 until her suicide in 1915, she was married to the Nobel Prize-winning chemist Fritz Haber. }

I think Peregrina ,Bellini and LeClerc are only on this thread to be rude to leavers.

Or perhaps they are panicking because we are actually going to leave.

Are you all trying to change our minds? You are wasting your time.
I have no intention of engaging with someone who compares the civil service of the EU to thevstaff of Leeds city council....teachers, porters, care workers, refuge staff etc.
I am on here to celebrate the wonderful poll ratings of the Brexit Party.

I am only here to remind others that Coppersulphate is mostly talking crap and still has no solid reason for the UK to leave apart from 'feelz'.
You can have your 'feelz' when you have sorted out compensation for all those who did not want this crap. Sounds like a deal to me.

Peregrina · 16/05/2019 18:13

I don't think I have been rude - unless disagreeing with you is rude. I don't think I have called anyone any names. I don't think calling Farage a fascist is rude - he was quite happy to sing about gassing Jews as a schoolboy. Now I know we all do stupid things when we are teens, but I know that I never stooped so low.

Peregrina · 16/05/2019 18:14

I see there is a thread running in AIBU about Farage needing to F off, so we can't be the only three who don't like him.

woman19 · 16/05/2019 18:25

we can't be the only three who don't like him.
BBC Cymru correspondent interview with him, can't have won any hearts or minds for the turquoisel in chief.

bellinisurge · 16/05/2019 18:38

Au contraire Grin, I'm a Remain voter who is prepared to accept a leave that is compatible with GFA. I think WA is the only version of Leave that does that .
I have zero respect for anyone who wants No Deal and doesn't have the guts to accept WA.
I actually save my sweary pants for Faridge, Corbyn and the crew of Leavers like Boris and JRM who don't have tbe courage we need to leave like grownups.
If you like No Deal, I don't give a shit how flouncy my posts make you.

bellinisurge · 16/05/2019 18:39

And I'm a prepper so I ain't panicking.

bellinisurge · 16/05/2019 18:58

And in case it's not clear, while I disagree here and there with @Peregrina and @1tisILeClerc (and no doubt they with me), I'm quite happy (also a bit flattered) to be bunched together in a set with them. Always interested in what they have to say.

PortiaCastis · 16/05/2019 19:02

Definitely dodginess going on

Borrowed from the Welsh interview with Farage. Just a lovely image really:

or that 85% of UK caught fish is sold in EU. Nothing screams the need for being a member of the EU so much as a lorry full of herring requiring border control checks..}

ChavvyOldBrexiteer · 16/05/2019 19:20

@Peregrina so where is your evidence that Farage sung about 'gassing jews' during his school days?
Did you witness this?
No, I thought not.
Really what a disgusting thing to say.

ChavvyOldBrexiteer · 16/05/2019 19:31

Message to Remainers:
Making unsubstantiated ad hominem attacks on people with a different political views to you isn't going to convince them to your way of thinking.

I met a guy who voted Remain at a Leave rally and he said he'd been swayed to Leave by James O. Brien shouting down a Leave minded caller on his radio show.

This is why people are flocking to the Brexit Party in thousands.

1tisILeClerc · 16/05/2019 19:39

{This is why people are flocking to the Brexit Party in thousands.}
Flock away, be my guest. I am willing to suggest when you receive your 'mystery Brexit prize' from Farage it will be a turd.

1tisILeClerc · 16/05/2019 19:41

So why did Clara Immerwahr commit suicide (shot herself through the heart with a pistol)?

bellinisurge · 16/05/2019 19:41

Ah victimhood.

Helmetbymidnight · 16/05/2019 19:43

and thats how every sensible person should do their decision-making on the future of the country.

This is why people are flocking to the Brexit Party in thousands.

the clara story has always fascinated me.

i once tried to fictionalise it but it was (obviously) too difficult.

there is a german film i believe.

Chocolatedeficitdisorder · 16/05/2019 19:45

Just to point out that the Conservatives increased their majority in Swindon in the recent council elections - gaining an extra seat.

Ooops, about that...inews.co.uk/news/politics/highworth-council-election-count-petition-high-court-local-elections/

I'm a Scot and I attended a 'Meet the MEP' hustings event the other night in Edinburgh. Brexit and UKIP declined to send reps.

The hall was full and quite happy to give feedback to the speakers.

I can confirm that there was zero support for any Brexit-supporting parties, from a large group of random, predominantly over-50s.

If we were to leave the EU with a WTO crash out, I have absolutely no doubts at all that Scotland would vote for independence in another referendum. The 10% swing in favour of the union in 2014 has most definitely been wiped out by those who believed it when the government promised that we needed the stay in the UK to remain in the EU.

Brexit will break up the union, and I wouldn't be surprise is NI and Wales were to follow within a few years.

Can you imagine England being all on it's own, surrounded by sea and EU countries? Is that what you would cast a vote for?

ChavvyOldBrexiteer · 16/05/2019 19:47

These last 2 posts prove my point.

You could have made a valuable point about how wonderful the EU is but instead you accuse me of 'victimhood' for explaining that accusing people you don't like of allegedly singing songs about 'gassing jews' over 40 years ago, with absolutely no evidence, is disgusting.

Shame on you.

Helmetbymidnight · 16/05/2019 19:53

people are flocking to the brexit party not because of their manifesto, proposals ideals, opinions or leaders, but because a dj shouted at a leaver on a radio show.

that is sooo awesome.

1tisILeClerc · 16/05/2019 19:53

ChavvyOldBrexiteer
The comment about Farage's singing was put up quite a while ago. You have to keep up.

ChavvyOldBrexiteer · 16/05/2019 19:54

my point about JOB is that by abusing and mocking those you disagree with, you don't convert them to your way of thinking, you just make them more entrenched and radicalised.
