If it comes down to the wire. If the EU refuse an extension and our only choices are revoke or no deal which way do you think it will go?

Alexalee · 29/03/2019 21:52

May's deal was the worst of everything... no wonder it's been rejected 3 times

Alexalee · 29/03/2019 21:54

Yet you cant give just a few points as to why it is so bad

DiscoZebra · 29/03/2019 21:54

Alexalee erm that's because it hasn't happened yet so how would we know exactly what would happen? Other than that it won't all be sunshine and roses. Car prices (among other things) are already increasing.

DiscoZebra · 29/03/2019 21:55

And if you're so eager to know just google it?

AwdBovril · 29/03/2019 21:56

I want revoke.
I think it will be no deal, because the UK is apparently now governed by a group of shortsighted halfwits.

The country will be ok. In about 50 years. Sad

Mistigri · 29/03/2019 21:56

I genuinely think we are heading for no deal now.

I think MPs think that because they have voted against "no deal" then it can't happen ... but actually for it not to happen they have to vote FOR something (May's deal, an extension, or revoke).

They are also forgetting that an extension requires unanimous EU approval and that the mood in the EU is moving in favour of landing the boil.

If I were going to put money on it, my bet would now be on no deal.

PJLove80 · 29/03/2019 21:56

There are a pile of examples of the specific impacts haven’t you read any?

OP posts:
CottonSock · 29/03/2019 21:57

It's bad for me as I booked flights to eu on 14th April, but like Alex I can't see any real proof of impending doom. I'm a remainer

Mistigri · 29/03/2019 21:57

"lancing the boil" ... blood autocorrect ...

DailyMailSucksWails · 29/03/2019 21:58

I dread idea of going thru MEP elections (now).
Lose Lose situation. May's deal IS the best outcome.

PJLove80 · 29/03/2019 21:58

Just think basic supply/demand economics. If supply is restricted and it would be on food etc then prices will rise fast.

OP posts:
Alexalee · 29/03/2019 22:01

We only get 30% of food from the EU... so 70% is not from there ie the majority

Amongstthetallgrass · 29/03/2019 22:02

Were not leaving. The EU will extend. And extend. Then there will another referendum. And we will stay

Im surprised people think we still have a choice tbh

Alexalee · 29/03/2019 22:03

Cotton sock flights have already been guaranteed not to be disrupted for 2 years regardless of a deal or no deal... you will be fine

PJLove80 · 29/03/2019 22:03

Firstly 30% is a huge amount in itself but how do you think it all gets into the country?

OP posts:
PJLove80 · 29/03/2019 22:03

And all the component ingredients within food?

OP posts:
HepzibahHumbug · 29/03/2019 22:04

Alexalee
It's impossible to prove economic harm before it's happened.
The Bank of England warned that the pound would lowere in value (ie make us each poorer) before the referendum.
We are now 20% poorer than we were before the referendum.
The car manufacturers are leaving/pulling out of investing in the UK.
Retail has been hard hit with big names going under and others struggling (m&s, Debenhams, John Lewis, Sainsbury's, Asda, etc).
Why do you not want to believe the facts?

Jason118 · 29/03/2019 22:04

So @Alexalee you know about flights but not about food? Curious Smile

Alexalee · 29/03/2019 22:04

By plane like it all does if not from the EU... it's much quicker for fresh produce... I would rather 30% was disrupted than 70
Also do you think the EU dont want to sell us food? We are a major trading partner of theirs
You think they will cut off their nose to spite their face

Alexalee · 29/03/2019 22:06

Hepizah... all of those retailers only deal in the UK... not affected by international relations

HepzibahHumbug · 29/03/2019 22:06

Troll?
Must be

DailyMailSucksWails · 29/03/2019 22:06

If we're worse off after Brexit (declare the zealots) it's because Remainers sabotaged everything to prevent a great Brexit, not because Brexit was always a bad idea.

The explanations will be everything but "We were scammed when told that Brexit would be the easiest trade deal in history."

jackparlabane · 29/03/2019 22:07

I'd love to say revoke, but I suspect MPs will vote for what they think will assuage the anger of Leavers. Walking around Parliament over the last week or two, there's a lot of angry Leavers protesting, and I predict riots. Oddly, the EU supporting protesters seem remarkably cheerful and friendly, but the Leavers have an air of menace, like 80s football matches that led to fights outside.

Alexalee · 29/03/2019 22:07

Hepzibah... call a troll because your argument is weak and generic... ok... do some research yourself and stop reading newspapers

MarshaBradyo · 29/03/2019 22:09

Revoke would be great but it’s going to be No Deal
