Put it to the People March 23rd March

www.peoples-vote.uk/march

While it's cutting things rather fine, the next People's vote is on March 23rd. It's clear the politicians have no clue. They still can't agree on what brexit should look like. Time to take it back to the people.

To people who respond to tell me things like 'we won, get over it',
I'd like to thank you in advance for bumping the thread.

Sandandsnow I have travelled into each of the marches from leaver central in the East of England. I must admit I usually keep my flag folded away during the journey. You may see other protesters en route. At the October march, for the first time, there were others boarding my train with flags and placards so I got mine out and didn't get more than the odd disgruntled look.

Not much chance of organised transport from my area but I'm going to see if DD1 will come with me. DH would happily come too but someone needs to stay with DS.

@quietrebel
I only became British a few years ago
before that I was here only on ILR which can be cancelled on the slightest whim and is immediately revoked if you are arrested.

My other passport Trumps the UK one, so yes I could fully see the UK throwing me back at it.
Myself and every other immigrant to the UK has been on tenderhooks since TM brought in the hostile environment in 2011.

Brits really have no idea how deeply unpleasant their government is ....

I do!

TalkinPeece · 22/02/2019 22:03

I was locked up by UK customs many years ago
I have never trusted them since

Quietrebel · 22/02/2019 22:05

I see... even though I'm an immigrant myself I don't think I've fully realised what the hostile environment is about...

You are lucky
One you see how horrible it, it cannot be unseen

I as locked into a mirrored room with no ability to contact anybody
until they decided that my ILR was real
I was 19
I had no way of contacting anybody
including the person waiting for me at the arrivals gate Sad

luckily he still married me years later Grin

I know how deeply unpleasant our government is. Well, I think I know, then I learn something that shocks me further. Sometimes I really wish I could talk freely here.

But that's not march related. We don't need to worry about that.

Oh dear TalkinPeece it sounds really awful!
I don't know how I would have coped with that. Yes, I guess I'd been sheltered by FOM for decades (but then the looming end of that prompted me to naturalise, as did many of my EU acquaintances who decided to stay- the others have mostly left)

TalkinPeece · 23/02/2019 11:13

Kitten
The March will be fine and I am looking forward to it, but those who were not born in this country need to remember how vindictive Sajid can be and make sure they stay happy and peaceful

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/02/2019 18:27

I almost feel like travelling to Bristol just so I can use that train. It sounds amazing! Wonder how they did it.

Just had an email from Cornwall for Europe. They've had such a big response they are putting on a third coach from Falmouth.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/02/2019 23:15

The people voted the tories in, the people voted for Brexit and the people vote to keep this bunch of clowns in term after term.
I have no faith in the electorate.

Latest Scottish travel arrangements I’ve found - European Movement in Scotland are putting on a coach from Edinburgh - details as per post above on Glasgow Loves EU page.

Thanks for keeping an eye on that end of things ChuffingNora :) I'll add it to the master list in a bit.
I keep checking for the accessibility guide, but it's not up yet.

Anyone going up on the coach from Southampton? If so, I'll get a red toothbrush.Wink

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/02/2019 19:03

Here's a great initiative for people who don't have a coach option and can't afford the train.

I'll add a bit to the getmetothemarch gofund me later as my train costs aren't too bad.
