My heart would break if my anxiety would let it.

Can't believe it.

It is awful, dh and I felt sick when we heard. Glad nobody was hurt, but you'd have to be a bit thick not to see the connection between this and Brexit Hmm

This is all so utterly unnecessary.

ASAS · 20/01/2019 00:32

We'll have that one generation, sandwiched in the middle, that knew peace.

Greensleeves · 20/01/2019 00:34

Hopefully not ASAS, it's not done yet Flowers

franklyshankly2 · 20/01/2019 00:35

The first post in this thread demonstrates exactly the callous attitude shown by some British people toward Ireland. And I say that as a scot

Caticorn · 20/01/2019 00:37

And so it begins...Sad

PestymcPestFace · 20/01/2019 00:37

ASAS Flowers Ignore the prat.

This was one of the fears some had about Brexit. Hopefully Green is right.

missesbiggens · 20/01/2019 00:38

but you'd have to be a bit thick not to see the connection between this and Brexit hmm

Ooooooh right. Sorry. I didn't know the two were connected. Silly me.
You shoudl read my post on the Brexit posterity thread fro further info. My posts have nothing to do with my attitude to Ireland, did not allude to my attitude to Ireland not even mention Ireland.

missesbiggens · 20/01/2019 00:40

Wow, and they say people that voted for Brexit are stupid. Haha. This thread is something else altogether. Brilliant stuff.

Greensleeves · 20/01/2019 00:40

I have not the slightest interest in your posts on other threads, although I have happened across one or two of them.

Your post on this thread was wilfully asinine.

Apileofballyhoo · 20/01/2019 00:40

ASAS I've been crying quietly. Flowers

NyaNinjago · 20/01/2019 00:41

We are on the border. My Dad was having dinner in a restaurant close to where the bomb went off. We are terrified that this is the beginning.

ASAS · 20/01/2019 00:43

So much "chatter" now that this was the warning (a closed building on a Saturday night), the murder is close by.

And agree with a PP that yes, there will be plenty who see it as a far away problem over there, just for those people, nothing to do with us nice sensible people over here who can handle the news, pet.Hmm

20 years and they can still build and transport a device. This is everyone's problem.

OP posts:
missesbiggens · 20/01/2019 00:44

Yeah, it's shit. But nothing to do with voting to leave the EU.

BillywigSting · 20/01/2019 00:45

This genuinely is scary.

The peace was always fragile. I hope to god this isn't a restart but I fear it might just be.

Greensleeves · 20/01/2019 00:45

You tell yourself that if it make you feel a bit less of an irresponsible asshat.

Clavinova · 20/01/2019 00:45

You might be jumping to conclusions - bombs almost every month in 2015;

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 20/01/2019 00:47

Co Down here.

This made me do a sharp intake of breath. People outside of NI rarely understand how fragile the peace is here, and that threats of violence like this are always bubbling under the surface.

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 20/01/2019 00:49

Yeah, it's shit. But nothing to do with voting to leave the EU.

Do you work for the security services? Or are you a dissident republican yourself?

Because if not, I don’t know how you can speak with any authority on this subject.

BillywigSting · 20/01/2019 00:49

Bombs almost every month in 2015?

Like I said. Fragile peace.

ChoccyJules · 20/01/2019 00:50

I don’t pretend to understand all the ins and outs of Irish history but my heart sank when I read about the bomb tonight. I also assumed it was something to do with the Brexit machinations but wonder who will claim it? I am so confused about the current hard border arguments I need a bit of explanation as to who wants what.

Clavinova · 20/01/2019 00:51

I hope to god this isn't a restart but I fear it might just be

It doesn't appear to have stopped.

missesbiggens · 20/01/2019 00:51

I don't disagree. It would be awful and anxiety inducing to live under the constant threat of unexpected terrorism. I completely get that.

What I don't get is why it is immediately linked with Brexit. Or rather I do get why, I just very much object to it..

ASAS · 20/01/2019 00:52

Indeed, fragile peace.
