October is slowly rolling into November.

Your eyes, rightly, will be distracted by events the other side of the pond.

It won't be good and it won't be pretty and it will have an impact on what happens here in relation to Brexit in one way or another.

May seems to have headed off trouble makers for now. But that means nothing if she can't get a deal through parliament.

And if you think we are in anyway prepared for No Deal I'd like whatever drugs you are taking. That way lies only disorder and to put it bluntly, deaths.

We MUST find a deal, any deal to prevent that. Desperation is the final ingredients in this mess. Who will blink as they realise what's at stake?

The problem is though, is too few MPs have grasped what's at state, such is the quality of our elected representatives. And that's the truly terrifying bit.

If they can't work out the risk of no deal, they certainly not equipped to handle the fall out of no deal.

If you want to shit yourself anymore, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that the minister responsible for hauling all your food and medical supplies in the event if no deal, is Mr Christopher Grayling.

Start praying.

Thing is Leave.eu wasn't the official campaign. They weren't responsible for the stupid bus that some idiots believed. They were responsible for other stupid stuff.
What I'm saying is that these twats being investigated by the police and the FBI will not rid us of Brexit. Gove and that other floppy haired twat will distance themselves and the purity of their mission from Faridge etc.

DS can fish quite competently.

I am good at last offices, should the need arise.

Am also a plucker , can look after most farm animals, but not madly keen on cows.

A Bloomberg article about betting on the Pound and the role of polling companies.

If you need someone to chop wood, I'm there, axe in hand. We will need Fire.
I can also teach you all Irish, just in case any more of you unearth Irish ancestors.

I am almost disappointed I won't be able or need to join you folks in 'the village'. I know I am nitpicking but isn't BCF in a land 'over the water' too?
How do you pluck a cow? (actually, don't tell me!)

borntobequiet · 01/11/2018 19:16

All the people being adversely affected by Brexit...businesses losing money, trying to deal with extra red tape...people contemplating lack of medicines...motorways becoming lorry parks...possible problems with travel, both short and long term...the effect on jobs...and official investigations into serious criminal offences behind the Leave campaign, whether official or otherwise - surely enough to tip the balance among those with influence in a variety of sectors?

Peregrina · 01/11/2018 19:23

I think this is the thing that will put the brake on Brexit - if enough people kick off.

I don't think so. I think Theresa May could use it as a get out clause, but to her having been set the homework of Brexit means Brexit, she's going all out to get her 10 out of 10 for it. Or A* - however homework is marked these days.

woman11017 · 01/11/2018 19:56

We are still in the EU, btw.

I don’t

Most Leavers don’t even think twice (at least outwardly) now it’s clear it’s going to hit them in the pocket.

There’s no way they are going to be swayed by insinuations of illegalities .

They won’t admit to anything other than they knew exactly what they were doing and were not influenced by anything.

I agree that this is the case at the moment. However, at some point it might become convenient to use this as an excuse for delaying the process (such as next March if there isn’t a deal).

frumpety · 01/11/2018 21:00

54321go Carefully ! that's how you pluck a cow, the damn beasts can kick like a mule when the mood takes them.

I am with you though, still don't think Brexit is going to happen Smile

54321go Geographical location doesn't matter, because Westministenders are a virtual community

DDs and I are capable archers - we do field archery so are used to shooting at animal-shaped things over unknown distances. I can skin and gut animals and am good at edible plants and fungi. I can knit and sew too. Oh, and I can make useful tools out of flint.

frumpety · 01/11/2018 21:10

Who is going to do the next Westminstenders thread ?

frumpety · 01/11/2018 21:11

Mrs8 I will do yours for you, you just find a good stick to cook it on Wink

54321go · 01/11/2018 21:12

Brexit will happen in some form. If the UK thinks it can 'mess around' with the EU for the best part of 3 years (by March next year) then simply say 'sorry folks we aren't going' they are likely to be disappointed.
Why should everyone in Europe suffer financially because the UK is being an arse?

woman11017 · 01/11/2018 21:14

Any one not living in britain must be looking on in disbelief at this ridiculous and humiliating 'prepping' nonsense.

And they are.

This is a regime intent on killing many of its citizens.

State genocide.

Talkstotrees · 01/11/2018 21:17

@Hazardswan - we have meeting with a representative from European Movement UK in our little town (very soon). I am not entirely sure where they fit but I have also received emails from our European Movement contact - to a different email address of mine - from a ‘Peoples Vote Blast’ email address quoting the Open Britain website. They seem to be connected. I shall ask him about it when we meet.

There is absolutely no guarantee of that though 54321go, yes we will look a bit silly if we call it off, but only in the way that a flatearther would look silly finally admitting it isn't Smile

54321go · 01/11/2018 21:37

It is almost impossible to think that the businesses that have already left, and those that have planned but not actually departed yet (probably part of the NDA 'rulings') will turn around and come back to the UK. Industry runs on plans made many years ahead.
Certainly German industry was 'told' to assume the UK is leaving over a year ago and they will have heeded the warnings. The French are busy making plans and I would expect many others are too.
The UK Gov can't afford compensation for all the industry (manufacturing and the financial/services sectors) that have or are taking flight.
