Ever closer to Brexit! 🥂 🍻 🍾

Remainers are welcome, as ever.

But!

If you just want to abuse Brexiteers, then start your own thread.

This is a pub thread, not an interrogate-a-Brexiteer thread

We have more in common etc, even if Brexit divides us.

WineBrewCakeThanks

I'm pinning my hopes on the shit getting real and everyone struggling together to get through it. In the Dunkirk spirt so beloved of Leavers. We are so divided, it's horrible.
Actually, I'm pinning my real hopes on the EU passport I am entitled to courtesy of my Irish Mum. So I and my dd can exercise those rights stolen from us.

mummmy2017 · 09/04/2018 17:02

What if we really are the start of a more open EU that goes back to the trade angle?
Warmer weather means more refugees will arrive this year.... that won't be good PR for the EU ..
There are lots of things that could contribute to the unhappiness of the countries who have to pay more to

DGRossetti · 09/04/2018 17:05

Anyone pinning their hopes on British people being aware of their own stupidity needs to remember things like the Charge of the Light Brigade, and the execution of Admiral Byng, to remind themselves how we can rock it as a nation.

bearbehind · 09/04/2018 17:08

Warmer weather means more refugees will arrive this year....

WTAF Hmm

DGRossetti · 09/04/2018 17:09

Warmer weather means more refugees will arrive this year.... that won't be good PR for the EU ..

So pleased we've finally moved beyond the idea that Leavers were obsessed with immigration.

LondonMum8 · 09/04/2018 17:24

Warmer weather means more refugees will arrive this year....

As usual, mummy prefers to communicate through encrypted metaphores. I guess this one means "the UK is getting ready to bomb the fck out of Syria to help the situation".

mummmy2017 · 09/04/2018 17:24

Do you not agree that the news will soon be full of daily boat counts.....
This I not me being racist... it's me pointing out a problem that appears every year. With nothing seeming to work to reverse the trend...

mummmy2017 · 09/04/2018 17:29

London your so clever.. you seem able to distort anything said into something so far from what was said....WOW how stupid .

KennDodd · 09/04/2018 17:31

petition.parliament.uk/petitions/203502

Here's a nice petition that we might all agree on.

KennDodd · 09/04/2018 17:36

Do you not agree that the news will soon be full of daily boat counts.....

Or it could be seen as good PR for the EU, in that they are will to take in desperate people and live by the ideal that human rights extend to everybody. Depends how you look at it really. What do you suggest they do about the boat loads of migrants? I get the impression that the only thing you care about is that they don't come here.

prettybird · 09/04/2018 17:40

And refugees fleeing war and/or famine in Libya and Syria is the EU's "fault" (which is the only logical analysis of "not good PR for the EU" Hmm) why???? Confused ConfusedConfused

Whatever the weather Hmm

mummmy2017 · 09/04/2018 17:43

No I think something needs to be done to stop the death trap boats being launched in the first place...
The EU seem to be not dealing with the cause.... how many more people need to dying at sea...

bearbehind · 09/04/2018 17:45

And what exactly are we doing about it mummmy?

Why is it down to the EU to resolve?

LondonMum8 · 09/04/2018 17:49

The EU seem to be not dealing with the cause....

It's a bit too late to deal with the cause, i.e. the destabilisation of the Middle East largely by the US and the UK. Unless we are talking punishment for the UK in which case Brexiters have taken this matter into their hands.

KennDodd · 09/04/2018 17:53

No I think something needs to be done to stop the death trap boats being launched in the first place..

So should the EU (or UK) provided safe passage for people instead?

mummmy2017 · 09/04/2018 17:54

So you don't think since the EU Is supposed to be a central point for 28 countries...and the funds they have for this situation should be applied to help the refugees.... I though all you ever shouted about was how everyone was in it as a unit... now your saying we should go it alone .... what a bit Iike brexit.....

LondonMum8 · 09/04/2018 17:57

Mummy has upgraded the encryption. I give up.

bearbehind · 09/04/2018 17:58

mummmy- I'm saying we're leaving the EU but you're still insisting the EU should resolve the refugee crisis.

The natural conclusion to that statement is that you think it's just up to the EU now and we don't need to bother about it.

prettybird · 09/04/2018 18:04

The EU is not doing enough?? HmmConfused

http://publications.europa.eu/webpub/com/factsheets/migration-crisis/en/

It can't win: either it is doing too much and trying to become a supranational controlling body or it's not doing enough to coordinate the efforts, not just of the E28 soon to be E27 but also to stop the wars and famines in the neighboroughing countries from whence the refugees some of whom have the temerity to die en route and cause poor PR are escaping coming.

Really must remind myself that not all Leave voters are ignorant, in the true sense of the word Hmm

mummmy2017 · 09/04/2018 18:09

Or the EU have a lot of coastline and just removing the refugees too other towns isn't working it just means more people are risking their lives.... why not help them before they Hand over their life savings, give them direct help in their own lands.....and yes it is the EU who need to do it. We are still part of this thing and will be for several more years......

Hasenstein · 09/04/2018 18:14

Mummy

"and yes it is the EU who need to do it. We are still part of this thing and will be for several more years......"

So you're happy for the EU to continue to use (some of) the funds we send it to give refugees "direct help in their own lands". I thought the idea was to stop sending money to the EU so we could use it for the NHS.

bearbehind · 09/04/2018 18:16

and yes it is the EU who need to do it. We are still part of this thing and will be for several more years......

Talk about changing your tune to make it fit with your current non-sensical comments.

You are priceless.

prettybird · 09/04/2018 18:18

Why not try to educate yourself Mummy2017 and you might find out that the EU is trying to do exactly what you suggest.

You could start by reading the link in my earlier post - which was extremely easy to find.

prettybird · 09/04/2018 18:23

Or alternatively, the EU could go down the Hungarian (or UK Hmm) approach and try to shut up shop and say no more refugees. After all, they are just yet more immigrants Hmm

mummmy2017 · 09/04/2018 18:54

As i said the problem has not gone away. You can not say it's not a global problem... that effects how all the different countries react... look at how they closed borders..
EU countries are changing how they view the future.... a week is a lonf
