Well here we are, almost 9 months on from the referendum & A50 is finally set to be triggered this month.
We've had petitions, marches, tantrums & tears, from the hardcore remainers desperately trying to stop the will of the people, but they can't.

So let's get the champagne out of the cellar ready & waiting - this is the last Brexit Arms thread so let's celebrate!

What shackles?

user1488581876 · 19/03/2017 20:32

In a discussion about facts and figures, brexiteers seem to immediately stick their fingers in their ears and start repeating ad nauseaum the mantra

'project fear, project fear, project fear, project fear, project fear'

as they seemed to be scared shitless by anything that remotely resembles primary school maths.

surferjet · 19/03/2017 20:40

Tryingtosaveup
Unfortunately, now they know triggering A50 is imminent, they've come on here to pick pick pick. It's childish & pathetic but I can't do anything to stop them posting.
I'm just hanging around until A50 is triggered & that's me out of here.
Not long to wait now Wine

Bless you surfer

GhostofFrankGrimes · 19/03/2017 20:43

Childish and pathetic? That would be swapping emoji's?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 19/03/2017 20:45

Waiting until A50 and then leaving the thread? Isn't that abit like buying a house but never moving in?

Kaija · 19/03/2017 21:57

That's precisely the problem - there is no house.

SemiPermanent · 19/03/2017 22:21

It does go in cycles right enough Surfer - whenever anything happens re Brexit becoming a reality the thread fills up with the same old guff repeated ad nauseam by people stuck in stages 1 or 2.

Kaija · 19/03/2017 22:31

What has happened re Brexit becoming a reality? The likelihood of Scotland leaving the UK?

Kaija · 19/03/2017 22:38

Still, it could yet happen this week. Something to look forward to.

Do whatever you think you should Draylon.

Do you often look to random strangers on the internet for advice on such matters?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 20/03/2017 06:34

There have always been remainers on this thread remember when all were welcome? I suspect these threads were set up for people to gloat. Speaks volumes of leavers really. Good to see the dodging of questions continues...

Kaija · 20/03/2017 07:34

It turns out that democracy for some means a once in a lifetime event, to be rewarded with a pat on the back and no further discussion.

Bearbehind · 20/03/2017 07:37

ghost in a weird way I envy the ablitity of Leavers to completely ignore the blatantly obvious consequences of all this and totally avoid even thinking about them let alone attempting to answer questions about them.

One thing is for sure, there will never be any answers from any one on this thread, simply because they don't have any to give.

The EU has been decreed the source of all the UK's problems and will continue to be the 'bad guy' when things don't go our way because they should let us do what we please, so it's the perfect scapegoat for Leavers.

Part of me would love to be that naive but, being a realist will ultimately be more useful when reality does bite.

surferjet · 20/03/2017 07:41

No not at all. I started these threads with a view to bringing us all together in a neutral setting. A place for us to chat together in a friendly way. I'm not sure if you remember how things were 6 months ago but it literally was a war zone on here. It's calmed down massively but the divisions are still there, & just too deep for my original idea to work.
Everyone was welcome on here, but not if you were going to attack & take the piss - who needs it?
I'm sorry you're still angry over Brexit, but coming on here and arguing is not going to stop us leaving the EU.

Anyway......have a good day everyone Smile

Oh. & nothing wrong with being happy about something btw, it is allowed you know.

I welcome those who are not rude, dismissive, belittling or haranguing.

I engage regularly with Remainers on the WM thread, but only with those who are not hectoring, wildly generalising about, or being shitty toward, Leavers.

Some posters come to this thread specifically to take out their irritability on people they have decided to blame for all the worlds ills - so quite frankly, it shouldn't come as a shock that nobody wants to read their repetitive pish.

Bearbehind · 20/03/2017 07:47

divisions are still there & just too deep for my original idea to work

surfer I seem to recall my very first post on these threads said exactly that.

The divisions can only be healed by Leavers acknowledging it isn't going to be roses and we need to make compromises.

By them actually questioning why there is still no real plan, why David David can't even answer the most basic questions at this stage because he hasn't even bothered his arse looking at these areas.

9 months on were not even close to that and as for it calming down on here, I'm more angry than I was, not less.

surferjet · 20/03/2017 07:52

Ok. It isn't going to be roses & we need to make compromises.

Everyone happy now?

Good. Let's move on.

I continue to be astounded at the hounding demand for answers, start your own thread, talk to your own friends and family, search h your conscience, dig into your intelligence if our answers aren't good enough. @Surferjet and Semi I salute your forbearance and ability to keep responding to these idiots.

scottishdiem · 20/03/2017 08:39

" just too deep for my original idea to work. "

Well when a campaign is based on lies (£350m) and hate (Farage Nazi Proganda poster) the divisions are going to deep surely?

Those of us who have been affected, those of us who have had to move countries, those of us who have taken the job of people based in England who cant make the move to Dublin can see the divisions on a daily, hourly basis. When a campaign thrives on hate, when a campaign and voters dont care about making people leave the country or make them unemployed, why would there not be divisions?

Bearbehind · 20/03/2017 09:21

if our answers aren't good enough.

What answers?

You haven't moved on from telling us your 'reasons'.

They don't matter now, what matters is how we deal with the fallout, which you have to first acknowledge is going to happen.

InfiniteSheldon · 20/03/2017 09:39

Happy to deal with the fallout and have repeatedly acknowledged it and believe it to be worthwhile to leave a corrupt dangerous behemoth I did not vote to be absorbed by

scottishdiem · 20/03/2017 09:41

Fallout has already started. And if making people unemployed is worthwhile then you have a harder heart that I do.

InfiniteSheldon · 20/03/2017 09:46

Jobs created by market skewing tariffs will go other jobs will (and have already ) arisen that's the nature of a relatively free market economy and a much more stable, sound and safe basis for one. I have empathy I am sorry for anyone who loses their job or has to go back to their country of origin but it doesn't mean I should sell my own country down the river and my children's future in hockey's
