The Westministenders Hunger Games continues. Boris still trying not to be outmanoevered.

Clearly Boris didn't get the memo, on when to quit the power games, even after Gove schooled him in the dark arts of the Tory Leadership....

So the Tory Smackdown rolls on whilst Corbyn STILL clings on. UKIP has now entered the race to make a challenge for who can make the biggest leadership contest shambles.

In The Blue Corner
May strikes fear into the hearts of EU citizens as she counts her bargaining chips.
Gove strikes fear into the hearts of humans, with his Martian twitch.
Loathsom strikes fear in the hearts of Britains by talking about babies brains.
Crabb strikes fear into the hearts of Torys by suggesting a plan that Corbyn might like. (and that beard doesn't help).
And Fox.
Well he just turned up.

Johnson is still waiting in the wings to stab Gove. He'd quite fancy a seat at the cabinet table too.
Osborne has gone quite again and we wait with baited breathe to see if he is the 'Charlie off Casualty' of the Tory Party (y'know whatever happens he somehow survives like a cockroach).

In The Red Corner
Corbyn apologies. So we know he's getting a bit desperate.
Will the Unions figure out something else to do other than sit with their head in hands.
Angela Eagle is still doing jellyfish impressions and hasn't found that backbone.
We STILL don't know who the fuck Owen Smith is?
Will Bliar's chicken's finally come home to roost?
The Cult of Momentum, rumbles on. We aren't quite sure who they actually vote for, but they seem to like their Dear Leader.
When will this country next have an opposition party?

Its kinda getting boring guys, we need some action now. End the Chicken Coup! The Tories are definitely out doing in the high drama stakes.

In the Purple Corner
Farage has gone! Hurrah. We hope only that he stays under that rock.
(Don't count on it. They'll wheel him out when they need publicity)
Will Leadsom be elected leader? Oh sorry, wrong party. I was getting confused for a second there.
Will they throw the cuckoo Carswell out? [:)]
Will they be able to find a less offensive leader than Farage who can unite them in their common goal of errrr..... yeah. That.
How long before one of their candidates has to apologise for something?

And I suppose I should ask, when will a50 be triggered....? And by whom?

All these questions and more.
Sense of humour compulsory. No experience necessary though

These Leadsom backers are about to march on parliament. Not much experience of marching so more like summer drinks.

Chris Grayling:

He then remind MPs of the comments made by Ken Clarke this week, criticising leadership hopefuls. He says that if Mr Clarke wants to return to the despatch box, he's found it a great support - a "wonderful alternative to a Zimmer frame".

TheBathroomSink · 07/07/2016 10:55

That "march" is indeed both hilarious and scary. It was lead by Tim Loughton MP, who said "The message to the markets was 'let's stop the pessimism and the doom'."

Jim Waterson's [[https://twitter.com/jimwaterson twitter] is hilarious on this march

Been lurking since the beginning (blimey was that only two weeks ago? Feels like I've aged 10 years...)
Want to say a huge thank you for the thoughts & analysis. Trying to hold on to hope but can't help feeling this is all going to get a whole lot worse.

TheBathroomSink · 07/07/2016 11:07

Loathsome says she will publish her tax return if she gets through tonight. Oh and everything on her CV is true.

Labour MPs urged to give Jeremy Corbyn 'more time' before leadership challenge
Posted at
11:11
Within the last half hour a potential candidate for the Labour leadership, Owen Smith, and the leader of the Unite union, Len McCluskey, have both urged members of the Labour party to give Jeremy Corbyn more time before they launch a leadership challenge.

In a statement, Owen Smith said that while he "stood ready to do anything" to save and serve the party, he had been talking to Mr McCluskey and Mr Corbyn to "explore what I can do to try and heal the rifts that have opened up in our movement".

He added that he has been reassured talks have been productive and said he needed more time to reach a resolution over this weekend.

GingerIvy · 07/07/2016 11:14

Smart move on the part of Owen Smith. If he can broker an agreement for Jeremy Corbyn to step down, he is likely to gain a HUGE following.

GingerIvy · 07/07/2016 11:14

In fact, he could be hailed as the man who brought Labour back together. Promising?

RedToothBrush · 07/07/2016 11:19

Owen Smith will be handed the baton and approval of Corbyn. Its a way to let Corbyn go on 'his own terms' but not be seen to be forced out.

Decision has been made if you ask me. Now its all window dressing to bring along Momentum.

Good move. It was also the only way it could go I think.

Re: Patel - she was a big Brexiteer. Her supporting May is potentially significant. I think May will be close to that 200 mark I had her down for. We shall see.

citroenpresse · 07/07/2016 11:22

I'm rather admiring Jeremy Corbyn for his determination to hang in there. Am I completely bonkers?

It seems so ironic that the Labour PP are trying to get rid of a leader that DOES have a huge democratic mandate, while a teeny percentage of the population are voting for the leader of the country.

Chalalala · 07/07/2016 11:23

Patel for May, wow, that's very interesting.

Britain First come out in support for Loathsom

www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/britain-first-andrea-leadsom-conservative-leadership-election-contest_uk_577d0176e4b0c9460801ceb2?edition=uk

Yes really.

OP posts:
TheBathroomSink · 07/07/2016 11:27

Is that supposed to be a positive re Patel?

Only when you consider that Michael Howard has backed Loathsome.

It can always be worse, remember!

RedToothBrush · 07/07/2016 11:27

The article is HORRENDOUS

Fans of Britain First echoed the group’s support, the second highest-rated comment on the group’s Facebook post reading: “[Theresa] May will cause civil war - she will let them have sharia law and have them Muslims home for tea. While we find ways of getting our guns etc ready for the off.”

OP posts:
TheBathroomSink · 07/07/2016 11:28

is Owen Smith any good? what do we know about him?

Well, we mostly spent two days either thinking he was the whiny Guardian writer, or thinking possibly he was entirely made up, so in short, we knows nuffink!!

TheBathroomSink · 07/07/2016 11:29
