Seriously? majority of people who voted for leave wanted control of our borders, we brought into your story of an Australian style point system now it seems there's still going be freedom of labour movement which is basically the same thing expect they get less legal rights.

I didn't just vote leave for immigration but yes it was a big reason and if I known this, if remain had a better hammered this home I bet MANY leave voters would not have voted the way they did. If anything if this happens, many leave voters will join the remain voters in rage at the lies we been fed. (NHS, Immigration)

I have been a vocal leave supporter on here but now I am feeling pretty scared about what I have voted for. I blame the remain campaign for having an totally shit and ineffective campaign and Cameron should never have been the leader of the remain camp, as majority of people despise him and don't take any notice of what he says.

"Now I will go and pay my fucking taxes elsewhere. " Bye. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

You may feel differently if many EU nationals do leave, mama.

Rebel, yes, I guess I did! Smile

gunting · 25/06/2016 18:18

FUCKING hell!!! This is a joke right? Everyone out here in the real world have been aware of this for the whole time, we haven't just been sat around with a straw waiting to suck up Boris and Nigel's bile.

At least you're getting the excuses in now. Everything has been going tits up under the Tories and you kick the EU, everything goes wrong when we leave the EU and you kick the people that want to stay? Get to fuck! The 51.9% made this shitty decision for the 100% of the country and our children - time to own it!

clam · 25/06/2016 18:18

The attitudes on here are cyber bullying at best. It's like dealing with a pack of wolves out for blood

Have a read of some of the OP's posts on numerous other threads on this subject. Few baying more loudly than she has been.

AdultingIsNotWhatIExpected · 25/06/2016 18:18

It's not just the net contributing educated immigrants we'll lose

Many of the "Best of British" are done, so many wonderful, educated friends of mine who are 100% british (doctors, scientists etc) no longer feel at home here in the current hateful climate and are looking into moving their skills abroad

MurphysChild · 25/06/2016 18:19

Deffo a troll post, FFS I told this everyone I knew before voting including my stupid DM and they still believed that if they voted out it would stop 70 million Turkish migrants.

I am not even sure the OUT voters can blame the fact they believed he campaign. I googled how Norway manages migration months ago and knew that free trading meant free movement in or out.

As far as I am concerned, and I voted IN, we have made our choice and now he best thing we can do is make the best of it and make this pile of crap work. Only we are responsible collectively, irrespective of vote, for making it happen.

Who knows in 5 years it may be the best thing ever.

From the REMAIN voter who is trying to have a half full glass whilst looking at countries with smaller populations than us that thrive perfectly well without an EU.

JassyRadlett · 25/06/2016 18:19

Bye. Don't let the door hit you on the way out

What are you up for cutting first? The NHS, schools or pensions?

The triple whammy of losing the tax subsidy from EU immigrants, the increased cost to service our debts because of the pound and the impact of an economic downturn are going to make previous austerity look like tax-and-spend.

Badders123 · 25/06/2016 18:19

Cry me a fucking river, op 😡

JudyCoolibar · 25/06/2016 18:19

People were saying over and over again that free movement would not be stopped. I get it that you believed the lies that people like Hannan and Farage told, but did you not stop for one second to wonder whether what people were telling you might be correct?

trixymalixy · 25/06/2016 18:20

I honestly don't know whether to cry, laugh or just throw up at this post. If it's real. I sadly think it probably is real

JudyCoolibar · 25/06/2016 18:21

"Now I will go and pay my fucking taxes elsewhere. "

Bye. Don't let the door hit you on the way out

Mamamea, can we take it that you are happy to pay the tax shortfall, then? You do know that the supposed saving in EU contributions won't cover it, don't you?

Globetrotter100 · 25/06/2016 18:23

Mitzy love the UK => Poundland cutting Grin

OublietteBravo · 25/06/2016 18:26

Bye. Don't let the door hit you on the way out

Mamamea does that apply to me too? I'm British, but my job is likely to move abroad - I fully intend to move with it. FYI - DH and I paid a shade over £45,000 in tax in 2015/16. We'll be paying a similar amount elsewhere by 2016/17.

OublietteBravo · 25/06/2016 18:27

Bigger - by 2017/18 - we won't be moving for 6 months or so...

2rebecca · 25/06/2016 18:28

It's only 2 days after the vote, no-one knows what we'll get. Too many people here are "certain" of this that and the other. Of course the other EU members are pissed off with us. Their stock markets fell more than the UK's yesterday. They won't want to make EU finances any worse than they need to be. Angela Merkel is already sounding more conciliatory.
I think we'll end up with a trade agreement with Europe but think it won't be the same as Norway. Yes a lot of stupid people didn't know what they were voting for, but there are also a lot of conservative MPs who knew exactly what they were voting for.
I think long term we'll be OK. Much of the EU isn't happy with the current EU structure especially the richer nations. Many European papers today were happy we have thrown a spanner in the works (but glad it's not their country that has been plunged in to chaos.)
Many poor poorly educated people have been far more affected by cheap EU immigrants than wealthy educated people. I'm not surprised they are fighting back.
Yes EU immigrants pay tax but we can't instantly summon up more GPs and schools and houses for them when we have no idea how many people are coming.
Free movement of people only works if all countries are equally prosperous and movement is fairly equal. Everyone rushing to the richest countries (particularly one whose language is the most commonly taught second language in schools) just causes resentment and infrastructure chaos. We aren't the only EU country to notice this.

Northernlurker · 25/06/2016 18:29

Hilarious joke thread OP. You being the joke, not the thread obvs.

BoboChic · 25/06/2016 18:30

The referendum should never have been held. The issues at stake are far too complex for the ignorant, intellectually limited majority.

SolomanDaisy · 25/06/2016 18:30

Mamamea, you'd better hope that poster isn't teaching your kids in a shortage subject. And that people like her aren't the ones saving your life in A and E. And that the sum total of people like her leaving doesn't mean massive tax rises or service cuts for you. Presumably it will all be worth it not to have to share a country with the foreigns.

isitspringyet · 25/06/2016 18:32

My 16 year old son explained to me about the French border in Calais months ago.. His future now looks uncertain thanks to the mainly Daily Mail influenced electorate. Thank you. He will have to live with this decision on top of uni fees (no longer going to be able to go to the continent to study for less). And probably never going to be able to buy his own property. I am so depressed. Thank you.

mamamea · 25/06/2016 18:33

"Mamamea, can we take it that you are happy to pay the tax shortfall, then? You do know that the supposed saving in EU contributions won't cover it, don't you?"

I was mainly responding to the ridiculous threat to leave based on non-existent proposals. People making threats based on - essentially - nothing are ludicrous.

People who want to leave based on nothing are more than welcome to obviously like to live in the moment.

Somehow, however, like much else from Remain, I suspect this threat is bollocks.

WilfSell · 25/06/2016 18:33

Oh I haven't been on MN for aaaaages but this thread made me laugh out loud.

Love you all (except the stupid, racist Leavers though) so a little gift for you if you haven't already seen it...

JudyCoolibar · 25/06/2016 18:33

OP, Remain undoubtedly said several times over that there was no realistic way we could continue to trade with the EU and prevent freedom of movement if we left. So the question is, did you not see or hear that, or did you not believe it? I'm finding it incredibly difficult to believe that you didn't come across it - no matter what the failings of the Remain campaign were, that information was in the leaflets, was discussed endlessly during radio and TV debates, and was available online. I struggle to think what else they could have done to get that information to you other than tying you down and forcing you to listen.

The much stronger likelihood is that you did hear it but you chose not to believe it. Only you can answer why that was. Could you tell us why you blame Remain for that?

isitspringyet · 25/06/2016 18:34

I am angry wth Cameron caving into the right wing element in his party and UKIP and giving this country the referendum. It is far too complex and issue for most and should not have been decided on a vote. Leave it to the experts please in future. I am gutted.

Hassled · 25/06/2016 18:34

- Independant article on how the Daily Mail has now explained what Brexit means and how the readers are shocked. Some of the comments are just painful to read.

It's too simplistic to just be angry at the Leavers. They were fed a crock of shite - they were lied to, repeatedly. The OP is wrong to blame the Remain camp - she should be blaming the Leave camp, who lied again and again and again. The penny seems to be dropping amongst Mail readers.

CommanderShepard · 25/06/2016 18:35

Jesus FUCKING wept, Rebecca. Did you not think about or even vaguely research the possibilities that either camp might be misrepresenting before voting, you utter berk?

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 25/06/2016 18:35

Yes its the remain campaigns fault you didn't do enough research, when the 48% of their voters managed to.
