The latest brainwave from the EU is that they want to replace UK judge & UK police with EU police & EU judges. The EU also wants an EU intelligence agency which will control & overrule the MI5, MI6 & also to stop the UK prosecuting terrorists and criminals could not be tried in UK courts!

That was basically the plot of the last James Bond Movie. James defeated their plan!

We get a lot of our intelligence via 5 Eyes - that's Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. These countries are bound by the multilateral UKUSA Agreement, a treaty for joint cooperation in signals intelligence.

The US would not continue to send us all the intelligence they currently pass to is if they knew we were then going to pass it on beyond the 5 Eyes. They limit intelligence they share if they think it will go beyond the countries the US itself wants to share it with. You should have seen the difficulty in getting some foreig nation's troops into American 4C in recent wars.

If we are stripped of the ability to gather and share our own intelligence we will be less safe.

People need look at what the EU may look like in the future as it progressively moves towards its stated aim of ever closer union.

At present all 28 EU member countries have their own separate seats on world organisations, - such as 28 sets on the United Nations, own seats on World Health Organisation, own seats on G20 etc.

The EU is already trying to replace the representation of its separate member states with just one EU seat on these global and international organisation.

Since the Lisbon Treaty, the EU has had what's called 'legal entity'. that means the Lisbon Treaty made the EU an actual 'thing' that can make deals in its own right and can make treaties and can be sued. The EU therefore exists in its own right. Since then it has started having its own EU ambassadors too.

The EU now has observer status at the United Nations. Once it has its own UN seat there will be no need for all its constituent states to have their seperate UN seats - the EU will do that for us.

The UK and France both have permanent seats on the Un Security Council - the premier body for upholding world peace. There has already been one vote in the EU Parliament proposing that the UK gives up its Permanent Seat. Once the EU has a permanent seat in the Un Security Council there will be need no for the UK and France to keep their.

Slowly, slowly, little by little, the EU is eroding our power and our influence in the world. Being in the EU doesn't make us stronger or safer, it makes us weaker and having the EU, a supposed trading organisation sitting at the top of the UN Security Council is not going to keep us safer either.

I think you've muddled up the ECHR with the ECJ

The European Court of Human Rights is nothing to do with the EU.

We would still be signatories to the ECHR when we leave the EU.

Yes the EU current system leaves a lot to be desired, and should be more democratic (as should our parliament), but in principle i have no problem with greater integration and a more federated EU.
Living so far up north in England, Brussels or London makes little difference to me.

Here's the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy - though why would a trading organisation need a body to fulfil those objectives ?? It should be up to each EU member country to decide its own foreign and security policy.

You can see from that article how the EU is slowly taking over as the main player on many international bodies on which the EU member countries formerly had their own seats - such as the World Trade organisation where the UK has had to give up its seat and is represented by the EU at at he WTO.

By all means say you don't care about the EU's federal ambitions, or make a positive case for a federal EU if you want. But please people, don't just deny it's happening. It makes you look ignorant or wilfully blind.
