you know when you've got out and the water is still hot (and clean)

The shower is set up all wonky, too - it's not our house, and it right above the taps.

There's a door, but it doesn't go very far and swings inwards.

In addition, the bathroom faces north and backs onto a forest so it is nearly always very cold, and you'd be very cold indeed sharing a shower in there with someone, in addition to soaking the carpet in there because the door isn't set up very well.

PrincessPeaHead · 10/03/2008 20:22

all 4 of my children have a bath together at night
dh and I shower in about 2 secs in the morning
if I ever manage a bath it is the full monty - candles, bubbles, good book, doors shut and NOBODY ELSE allowed in
I manage it about 4 times a year I reckon

expatinscotland · 10/03/2008 20:23

PPH, you must have a huge bath !

We manage to squeeze the two DDs in there and they share.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 10/03/2008 20:24

I have a bath with dd every night. Its our time togther to chat about the day and she loves it.When I was heavily pregnant with ds she was so sad we could not get in together.(I always make her have a wee first)

flossie64 · 10/03/2008 20:26

We always do .
Either i go in on my own or with dd, then my hubby gets in afterwards.
never share with my ds ,lots of reasons why, mainly cos he is 17,and 6'4" . LOL[Grin]
By the way you people who always shower ,seemingly a power shower uses more water than a normal bath , so does not conserve water.

snooks · 10/03/2008 20:44

Well, we've got an average sized bath, and along with ds1 & ds2 (3.6 and 21 mths) I'm almost 33 weeks so there's a bit of a bump squeezed in there too. Still don't think that beats currantbunmum or PPH though.

I remember the days when every night I'd have about 40 mins by myself with a good book, topping up the hot water etc.... [sigh]. I'd probably slip under the water and drown if I had the time to relax that much these days

oliviaelanasmum · 10/03/2008 20:50

I get in for a quiet 5 minutes before hollering for the girls who join me for a good chat. Dd2 helpfully pointed out that she had weed in the water the other day
No-one in this house has a bath to themselves!

Cappuccino · 10/03/2008 20:50

sometimes yes

Kerrymum you are bizarre - once you let a bloke put his cock in you surely his skin cells are beside the point

often I'll get in when I see dh in the bath because it looks nice; we bought a bath with centre taps so we could share

mistressmiggins · 10/03/2008 20:52

agree with ShinyHappy - I never get in someone else's water

I love a really hot bath and both exH and DP are wimps so after 30 mins of soaking, the temperature is just right for them to use my water

I rarely have baths (time issue) so Im not dirty when I have one - its a luxury.

KerryMum - doesnt matter how dirty they are cos we women always get in first

expatinscotland · 10/03/2008 20:58

it's crowded and uncomfortable. i've never had a bath that could accommodate that many people and everyone actually gets clean.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 10/03/2008 21:09

Ew Kerry! Just.. ewwwwww!!!!

southeastastra · 10/03/2008 21:10

yeah ew, i'd always get in first too though

Baths are a rarity as we all shower daily - but yes, except after DH who insists on cutting his toenails in the bath!!

snorkle · 10/03/2008 21:12

Kerry, I read your post and thought typical American attitude - then I remembered you were! All Americans I've met have been totally squeamish about that sort of thing - very odd!

Me and the children (x3) share a bath every night, dh will have the water after us if he's in. Can't get in after him, too hairy!
I stayed with my male cousin a few years ago and when I was in the bath and he shouted up the stairs 'LEAVE THE WATER IN' and I thought 'Ooh, hmm, is that a bit wierd?' but left it in for him nevertheless. Perfectly normal for a family I think.
What about towels, do you share towels? How many times can you use a towel before it goes in the wash? Or by asking that question have I outed myself as a dirty cat?

When DD was tiny I did. Nowadays no, not really. None of us have baths very often, Dh never - we have showers instead.

DD and myself very occasionally have the odd bath, although generaly seperately at different times.

Oblomov · 10/03/2008 21:38

Ds often gets in mine, with me or after.
This weekend I went to visit my best friend.
She got in, then me, then my ds, then her ds.
Hows that, for ethical/ green - or was that just the colour of the water at the end ?

DH and I always share- its environmentally friendly and economical as we both like it right up to the top, and piping hot. I have 5 mins first till it cools enough for him, then he has 15 mins after, reading. Like rodeo though- I can't get in after him due to the hair.

We don't share towels though- except the hand towel just used for drying hands which gets changed every couple of days.
