Hi all, MIL 92 has heart failure and kidney failure. Last 6 weeks mobility has reduced and in and out of hospital. Discharged from hospital today with a home care assessment. After a battle come back with 3 times a day care short term. Problem is she seems to think we will look after her and as time goes on our lives are consumed with the physical of doing more and mental of worrying about what is happening and what happens next. I’m sure lots of you have faced this before. How do you protect you and your life from being taken over. I feel resentful that I didn’t sign up for this and no one asked me!!

You can discuss all these issues with women who are in the same situation and get support and advice.

You start as you mean to go on.
Unfortunately it will raise some tough conversations but it will serve you well in the long run.
Also be clear with the organisation who are doing the temporarily care and assessment that family help will be xyz that you can offer.
