Confused by DD's report; actually flabbergasted

DD has got fabulous results in some subjects

I can't understand it - I was expecting a page on unsatisfactory and maybe '3a's

But this is truely bizarre

English --,5b, 5b, 5c 5c
Maths , 4a, , 6c 5c
Science 4b, 4a, 5a, 6a 5c

How does that make sense?

i think it's a sign that they are taking it seriously, for sure. it means you can breathe a bit (esp now that you have a few others - parent partnership etc - also fighting your corner) and just concentrate on ensuring that they get support in place across the board.

this is a really good sign katy, honestly. and it will do dd the world of good to know what she is capable of even with her sight issues.

the thing is - most of the recent assessment she will have done from memory, and just regurgitated it with the aid of a scribe etc. now they have to ensure that she is continuing to learn and increase her knowledge.

it's interesting to wonder about the sensory input side of things - has the school been visited by a VI STA (specialist teacher advisor). the lea should have one that specialises in VI - it would be interesting for you to find out who it is and try to make contact. they will know what support should provide the best possible results.

Really?

I thought it was significant that her marks were better 14 (or so) weeks in than before

I wondered if it were something to do with Sensory overload or something

We have Sensory Support in every couple of weeks - I guess they are who you mean
