My daughter is nine. Yesterday she came home from school and said that her teacher had told the class that she was a lesbian. The teacher is about to have one of these civil partnerships and according to my daughter told the class that girls could marry girls and boys could marry boys if they wanted to.It was according to her entirely natural. This seems like corruption to me. I don't want my daughter exposed to this kind of lifestyle.

I am very upset about this and don't know what to do. Am I over reacting? Should the school have warned us that the teacher was going to do this? Do you think I should make a complaint to the school?

"This is the default position of nature."

So I take it you don't drive anywhere, you hunt and kill your own food and gave birth squatting in a cave?

Or do you not use the default position of nature for everything, just things you disagree with?

Right.

Truly nemo, you belong in an institution. Posts reported.

My 4 yo (as she was) asked me in the car after school one night if it was true that girls could marry girls, and boys could marry boys. I was a bit taken aback about how such a thing had come up at school, but told her - yes that is true! She went on to tell me that if that was the case, she wanted to marry me!

Obviously at her age, we have not had in depth discussions on the subject. She is totally accepting of the fact that all kinds of combinations work, so happy to buld on that....

pooexplosions · 28/11/2009 21:52

no ability to think? That explains a lot, Nemo. Also lost the abilty to spell, see or understand anything about the real world as well?

clemette · 28/11/2009 21:53

When I was teaching my students knew lots about my life - largely because I live in catchment and many of them live on my street.
The MOST outrageous thing I did was get pregnant and tell them I was going on maternity leave without telling their parents first. I am amazed that they didn't all become teenage mums because children are renowned for wanting to do what their teachers do

"A lot of people have lost the ability(or the courage)to think in the last 12 years or so."

And also to spell, apparently. 'Ligitimate sexuallity'? Doesn't that deviate from nature's default position?

For such a straight man (I presume) you sure do know an awful lot about what 2 men get up to in the bedroom. I presume lesbians are Ok with you?

badietbuddy · 28/11/2009 22:09

ALso at nemo's accusation of lack of arguement. Because yours is obviously watertight

Ditto Butterflyeffect. Just like when the Stenier loonies decide to come down from the mothership onto a thread they have just stumbled across
