Shocked by hatred of kids & parents on TES website

I've spent a bit of time reading the TES website which contains threads and postings from teachers and I am stunned by the level of hatred and abuse directed towards students and their parents. I am horrified to think that some of these creatures may actually be teaching my kids!
It appears that the "state of war" we read about it British classrooms is by no means one way traffic - the teachers
seem to relish getting in on the all the drama.

I played no part in the site on which you were a moderator being closed down.

LucindaCarlisle · 18/07/2010 16:02

Marjoriew you are full of innuendo but short on facts.

mrz · 18/07/2010 18:17

So Lucinda (odd choice of name for a man ) are you saying you aren't the poster who is frequently banned from the TES forums?

LucindaCarlisle · 18/07/2010 18:27

I am saying that marjoriew has made false accusations in the post at the top of this page.

mrz · 18/07/2010 18:38

Was that a yes or a no to my question?

LucindaCarlisle · 18/07/2010 19:38

Why do you ask about TES forums?

Lucinda in case you haven't noticed that is the subject of this thread ...

It is strange that marjoriew should mention a web forum that was closed after only about three months or so, as her role in that Forum hardly reflects credit upon herself.

OK, so I clicked on the tail end of the thread - which of the TES trolls is it?

The Chrises or QT?

Someone bring me up to speed please! (Think it's obvious I must be a regular Tesser from remembering the horror of the Chrisses)

Marjoriew · 20/07/2010 21:51

Lucinda Carlisle is QT - he is well remembered from Parentscentre as it's one of the usernames he had there.
Not too sure about the Chrises though, but there's not a lot to choose between them.

Vallhala · 20/07/2010 21:58

FWIW, I was a member of Parentscentre. I recall Marjorie well, as a kind, caring, well informed, polite and helpful lady. Not to be messed with, maybe, but why should she be!

I'm dismayed to read of some of the remarks levelled at her on here and think I too may know who she is referring to.

Sorry you have to put up with this Marjorie, imho it's totally undeserved.

LucindaCarlisle · 20/07/2010 22:05

I have checked on Google, LucindaCarlisle was never on parents centre.

Marjoriew · 20/07/2010 22:07

Thank you, Valhalla, you are kind.
I hope you and yours are well and flourishing. Grandson is 11 now and I'm still home educating him. I'm now a senior citizen [62] with my free bus pass 'n all His heart surgery X 2 has been succcssful.
Lucinda Carlisle was Locarno [among other usernames] on Parentscentre.
He is also on TES causing havoc as usual, and banned on a daily basis.

GazzasDressingGown · 20/07/2010 22:09

I think if you do any public sector job sometimes you have to let off steam as it were. You spend so much time trying to do the best and it is stressful.meeting all the crappy targets and stuff.just like on here when people need to vent "My oh is an arse" or "my mil doesn;t listen" or whatever. The internet is a double edged sword!I think unless you sre doing a stressful job like teaching/police/fire service/nursing/social work and have the pressures it maybe difficult to understand.A lot is probably random venting due to the powerlessnes that a lot in public sector face.

LucindaCarlisle · 20/07/2010 22:10

Not true. and there is no evidence to support your wild and false accusations.

Just as I thought Marjorie.

Readers, if the suspicions which Marjorie and I have are correct, she has every reason to be hurt and offended, I can assure you.

If i am wrong, I apologise wholeheartedly, LC.

Marjorie, I'm really glad to hear that you and he who is into "all things sword and sandal" (that still makes me giggle!) are well. Long may it continue. I know how much of your heart and soul you put into that little lad.

Marjoriew · 20/07/2010 22:20

He is still into all things 'sword and sandal', Valhalla.
Just today, a workman came from the Housing Association to put a new bath panel on our bath.
He constructed it out of plywood, showed grandson how to do the measurements and then made him a sword out of the left over wood!
By the way, I have 13 grandchildren now

Vallhala · 20/07/2010 22:33

13... good grief! Bet they keep you out of mischief!

My DDs are teenagers and back in the school system now. I gave up fighting with an obtuse LA, moved and thought that I could trust the state system with my challenging , difficult but bright and rewarding DD2. I was wrong and have little doubt that I'll be seeing more of you on the HE threads very soon.

Btw, remember parr? I wonder who she is winding up nowadays how she is now!

Marjoriew · 20/07/2010 22:37

I remember par - was she a pain in the arse or what? She and Locarno/Lucinda Carlisle were well matched

LucindaCarlisle · 20/07/2010 22:46

Whatever happened to that alternative rebel parents centre? I hear that it only lasted for three months.

Marjoriew · 20/07/2010 22:51

Valhalla, grandson doesn't want to go to secondary school - we discussed it several times and he's positive he wants to continue HE.
I just think you can spend so much arguing with teachers, headteachers, LA's and you just go around in circles.
Even at my age, I find HE much less stressful.
