Brit School 2022

Any of riding the Brit School 2022 application process. Dd is through to interview for music KS4. It’s beginning to feel like it could actually happen but also feeling very far away if that makes sense. How about you?

My dd has landed up on a WhatsApp group with lots of kids who applied for all the different strands this year. The intel seems to be that theatre and dance may hear this week and normally music hear last just before Easter with all the other strands hearing between. We are waiting for music so it’s very nerve wracking - just want to know now. 🤞🤞🤞

That is a huge relief to hear! My son got into Y10 IDD last year and we heard on March 22 so i was assuming would be the same and worrying it was bad news as we hadn't. Might I have seen you at the interview day? My daughter went on weds March 2nd.

Hi Fennelandlovage! I’m happy to hear that your DD is excited to hear back for music. My DD auditioned for Musical Theatre, and she’s super nervous. I think it would calm her nerves if she talked to some of the other kids on WhatsApp? If possible, could you please send me the WhatsApp group chat invite link?

Hello @Mum0577 not sure why my username keeps changing to an old one but this is me too. I do feel weird about sharing a link for a closed chat between young people I hope you don’t mind. However - I think emails have started coming out for some strands so hopefully your DD won’t have to wait long now. Good luck 🤞

Hi...our DD applied for Dance...attended the workshop and had an interview.... but not heard anything yet...has anyone else from the Dance strand had any response yet? Smile

No still no news. The end of this week is four weeks since the end of KS4 auditions so hopefully soon 🤞🤞🤞 dd and I definitely ready to hear - just want to know either way so we can plan for next year. Hope it’s good news for you when it comes in.

Also meant to say we had an email last year, same address and format as for the rest of the process, just popped into my inbox with a 'we're delighted to offer you a place etc' intro.

We found out on 24 March last year - DS has friends waiting to hear about Y10 places - seems they are taking longer than last year

Sorry, I didn't see this until now, yes he loves it and feels he has 'found my tribe' after years of trying to bend himself into a shape that fitted in other schools. He's producing great work and his social life is thriving (possibly a little too much!) and the friends he has brought home are all very lovely and switched on and great to have around :)

@Duffydoodle that’s lovely to hear. We really are 🤞in this house as I think my dd would really fit well there too and has never quite belonged where she is right now plus the creative opportunities look amazing by comparison. Just wishing music wasn’t quite so popular/ oversubscribed as a strand. Spending lots of time playing devils advocate and trying to prepare dd for disappointment in case that’s the way it goes. Wish the wait as over.

Us too @Lockdowndramaqueen. I have frequently said it would have been quicker (and poss cheaper and easier) to run a POTUS campaign than this. I think we’ve been aiming and prepping for it for more or less six years now!

I'm so glad to have found this chat ! We have been pulling our hair out DD audtioned for MT 4 weeks ago on Friday, she's been dreaming of going there since we went to an open day when she was 9. Nerves are frayed and I pop home every lunchtime to check the post, in the audition they said it's a letter. DD also met so many lovely people at her audition they set up a whatsapp. I hope we find out soon ! Good luck everyone

@DOOFS73 ditto to open day aged 9! I know it’s already been asked earlier but if your daughter would be happy to admit others who auditioned and you could share the group details privately my daughter would be very happy!?
