If so how is he different- I was talking to my dh over the weekend and telling him he didn't need to clear his plate , he wasn't still at boarding school and he said it had nothing to do with boarding school but just good manners . there is no food he doesn't like and I'm sure that's because he was always starving. he also always makes the bed in the morning as he's getting out of it practically. just wondered if anyone else got experience of this?

Ooh my word. Poor you. Good that you're not hungry and doing the Oliver Twist thing any more.

Oblomov · 11/06/2007 15:50

I am like Quattro - Dh is anally tidy and did not go. I begged to be allowed to weekly board - and I do none of it.
Likr hundredtimes - we laugh and consider oursleves beautifully compromised - and as bad as eachother !

Oh no was alright, was quite funny and wild really. I didn't mind at all. AND I bailed out at 17 because I'd heard there were these things called A levels which you needed, so I thought I'd better go off and see if I could find some.

DH went to a posh boarding school and is a complete slob.

I went to a common comp and I am also a complete slob

I loved that post, Mrs Carrot

icod - they showed us Quad on the wall in the gym on Saturday film nights. They did really. And Midnight Express. You couldn't really get expelled at my school. I can't think of anyone who did. Nobody really cared. We used to have riots and sit ins and things.

Was very verrrry expensive though, amorality doesn't come cheap.

I don't think they did amorality at my old place. Immorality yes (not licensed though) but not amorality. We had this thing called a six inch rule. D'you have that?

scatterbrain · 11/06/2007 15:59

dh's school had a Saturday night bar with alcohol in the 6th form and they were ALLOWED to get completely pissed !

Luckily our cleaner is nice and tidy. No idea where she went (other than it was in Poland) but I will quiz her next time I see her...

CountessDracula · 11/06/2007 16:02

Yes - he says that's why he eats so quickly.

PinkMartini · 11/06/2007 16:04

MY dh only boarded for 2 years but i was there for nine and I definitely have food issues.
Do eat quickly and if I'm hungry have to "remember" my manners - or it's properly shovelling it down stuff!
My school was like that cod - bugger all to do and nowhere to go.
100 - please tell us which it was?

Enid · 11/06/2007 16:04

and all the local girls sniggered about cod and her cronies

(I went to Quadrophenia - at the County cinema )

ahundredtimes · 11/06/2007 16:04

No, we didn't have any rules. Not even a six inch one.

Oh no, I think there was one, yes there was it was, You Must Wear Shoes to Lessons.

I'm not making this up.

PinkMartini · 11/06/2007 16:06

We weren't allowed a bath every day - we had a rota and had ten minutes to either bath, shower or wash, depdning on the day of week.

Enid · 11/06/2007 16:06

cod I was a Hertford local hard girl

scatterbrain · 11/06/2007 16:07

ex boyf also went to boarding school - they had the 6 inch rule ! Also - were allowed lady visitors to their study bedrooms in 6th form - but not allowed for both parties to have feet off floor at same time !!

I got chucked out lots of times !
