DELIGHTED!!!!!

She is (was?!) Selectively Mute and didn't speak at all to classmates or teachers for 2 years of nursery and the first half of P1 (she is almost 6)

She started talking in January and has come on amazingly. She speaks to just about everybody now - my little star

That's lovely news - you must be delighted Well Done to your special little girl too

That's lovely news, wallace!

My dd was also described as a "dreadful chatterbox" by her P1 teacher, but unfortunately in her case it was a criticism.

Dd maintains that she is not a chatterbox, Emily is, and that she talks to Emily because she is polite

brilliant, well done little wallace.

That is excellant news Wallace.

Really pleased for you and your DD.

Had been following your threads as my ds has selective mutism and your post gives me great hope for the future.

allgonebellyup · 10/06/2007 10:59

Fab!

My dd is/was suffering from selective mutism, she wont talk to adults, especially teachers, parents and my mum. She will however talk to them if her little bro is there too! most people think shes being rude when she ignores their questions, and it makes me want to throttle them..
However she is gradually getting better and more confident, she is nearly 8.

i would love her report to call her a chatterbox!!

motherinferior · 10/06/2007 11:02
