Saw this on bbc's papers round up but can only find a full story link in the Fail, sorry.

Basically, a deputy head who was a senior examiner and involved in setting the exam leaked the exam materials to staff and students for one of the economics papers for the Cambridge Pre-U so all those marks have been disregarded. Deputy head has now left the school.

I'm quite shocked. What on earth was he thinking? And how much pressure must he have been under to ensure results that he thought this was a good idea?

Any Eton parents about on mumsnet today? What are your thoughts?

sitting an exam with advance knowledge of the questions
MrsWobble Are you sure before they sat the exams they knew these were the questions that would come up? Does it specifically say that in any of the press reports? I have only read one.
It would seem that action was taken immediately after the exams for two of the cases. It is not clear how long it took for Eton to notify for the art history whether this was recent or in fact again straight after the exams when the boys and school realised.

Can you put your hand on the Bible or the Koran or whatever Holy Book that inspires you that your kids have never cheated in their GCSE’s and/or Lower Six AS’s in their ‘coursework’ nonsense by way of extra parental/tutor or other external help and guidance in their exams? - certainly in my case, yes! Both my DSs never let me get so much as a sniff at any of their coursework in any subject and that didn't seem to be unusual amongst their peers.

I firmly disagree with 2GandTplease. Eton deserves to be slandered everywhere, including the highly respectable news outlet, 'The Daily Mail'. It is ridiculous that a school with such exorbitantly high fees would have teaching inadequate enough to warrant such deplorable behaviour as cheating on a nation-wide exam. Shame on Eton and shame on 2GandTplease for stating the ignorant and callous opinion that the students are worthy of our pity!

Perhaps you should look up the definition of 'slander'.
