what are your reasons and feelings about this?

It is completely beyond our financial reach.
Makes me wonder what exactly did our (DP and my) parents pay for if we aren't among the top earners who can afford this.

It's too expensive and in the cases of some schools, not worth the money. My parents were in mid level administrative jobs and I went to private school. My old school's fees have gone up x 4 per term since I was there. The school was ok and I enjoyed it but our wages aren't four times more than my parents' wages.

Can't afford it but if we could I would seriously struggle. My private secondary experience was hideous - bullying, nasty bitchy snobby girls, no diversity, bad teachers who didn't give a toss, never encouraged any ambition - got told in 90's that it wasn't worth going to uni just find a good marriage Hmm - I know all schools are different and things have changed but I struggle to look back on my school days without getting myself very worked up. So no I can't contemplate it.
