Is mine the only child who isn't going back to school till Wednesday?

'Today is another of those 'an extra day off for teacher disguised as a planning day' inset thingy.

Ahem, I am the teacher that will tell you off.

INSET days were taken from the teacher ordinary holiday entitlement. They children would always have had that day off school (that day or another one IYSWIM) Kenneth Baker introduced the Inset day . the days came from the teachers holiday and not the children's.

So sit in the corner and write out some lines, missy!

mine goes back tomorrow, although I had to go up to the school today to get him a tie, and all of the taechers appeared to be there, putting up stuff in classrooms, cleaning out cupboards etc.....not sat on the playground drinking pimms.

DD1 id back at school on Wdnesday and dd2 sarts playgroup on thursday so a busy week in my house.

ds1 and ds2 went back today (year 8 and year 6)

ds3 returns to playgroup tomorrow

dd (year 10) starts on thursday

Did have to ring his school on Monday just to check, lol, apparently I was about the 41st to ring....

DD also back tomorrow in Y1. I took her out of her first school after reception year and am trying another school. AAAAAAAAAArgh hope we made the right decision!

DS2 starts big school monday and is driving me mad because ds1 went back yesterday and it's not fair!! DS1 says is not fair but for the opposite reason

Dd2 will be back on 11th Sept, all things being equal. She should have begun today but, as we've been marooned in Scotland and her school is in Nigeria, she's having a few buckshee days.
