A few days early I know, but most of the entrance exams will be out of the way in a fortnight or so, and I'm sure there are a number of us who are in need of or or as we watch our (still very little) boys forget everything that they may have learned over the last couple of years. And there are many veterans of the process who will hopefully be around to reassure us that we will all come through this unscathed.

dippinbackin- are you 10 or 11+? Waiting to hear on sports assessment for 11+. In what way was your talk with the headmaster informative? Just info about your DS or process in general?

Headmaster gave info about DS' results and also how Whitgift would suit him etc...

Ds had interview with Head at W yesterday, very relaxed chat. Mr. B told DS how he did in Maths. Spoke to DH and I beforehand, again very relaxed. Said DS would do very well at Whitgift. Mr. B mentioned the sports assessment but we haven't had a letter yet . Dh seems to think an offer is a done deal but I refuse to count chickens until the 14th!

So those with greater knowledge... should we read anything into who gets interviewed by the HT?

Sigh123 - just to let you know my son sat for T and W. He has an interview for Trinity but we have heard nothing from W. I rang them today and was told that interview letters will be sent out well into next week and possibly the week after. It's tough waiting but please don't give up yet. It's time to stock up on the wine/chocolate and wait for the postie!

Hello ladies, thank you for all your contributions, very helpful in keeping my mind off things.

DS sat T and KCS for 10+. Got interview with T next Saturday, but nothing at all from KCS.

Is anyone doing KCS 10+? Heard anything? dippingbackin is doing 11+ ...
Has anyone done interview with T 10+ yet? What questions were coming up please?

Ladydepp and others: Ds too was interviewed by Mr B yesterday and when I had a chat with him after Ds' interview, it sounded like he was already offering Ds a place. More like selling the school to me than the other way round! Obviously DH wasn't around and I really hoped I had pressed record on my phone! We'll have to wait till the 14th.
Oh, and Ds was asked if he is to get offers from all schools he's applied to what would he choose? Poor child only told the truth that he's already gone to the final stage in a boarding school but W will be good since they've also started boarding and most of his friends came in at 10+!

Brownsugar - yes that was the impression we got too, Mr. B was selling the school to us. It wasn't a hard sell, he came across very well and we do love the school. My main issue with it is the distance....if it was round the corner it would be a no brainer!

I don't think DS was asked any questions about which school he would choose, but tbh he doesn't tell me much...

Hmmm. I've seen a few boys on Clapham Junction platforms in the morning going to W. And with the boarding house now open, I'm sure they will allow flexi or weekly boarding. Worth exploring if you & Ds are set on W.

I too felt they were selling it to us. Distance also my main issue but DS loved it. Two boys from his current school who started in September met us and they were so positive about the school. No better way to judge somewhere than chatting to the boys.

ipreferletters....DS is doing 13+ for KCS not 11+, even though did 11+ for W and Hampton

Out of curiosity are there any non-bursary 11+ candidates waiting for an interview letter from Whitgift?

Regarding the boarding at W, I have a friend whose DS stays 1 night per week and it works really well. It definitely makes it more attractive for us...

Ladymuck - are you thinking bursary applicants are having to wait longer than full fees candidates to hear about interviews?

Hi - not sure if this helps but we are 10+ W and have not heard anything - we have not applied for a bursary or scholarship. Not sure what to make of it to be honest.

11+ W. No bursary nor scholarship, but were called last Saturday. I think - from last years thread - it is all random. Feel for you all still waiting.

W 11+ bursary and scholarship. Phoned last Sat, had interview Wed.

Sadly had the "thanks but no thanks" from T for 10+. As I understand it all rejection letters should have been received from T for 10+ and 11+ now. Sounds like W are being very slow. There next week for music audition so I'll hopefully get more info then.

Posts came, but still not a dicky bird from T. Am fed up with them now. Is there anyone in the same boat still for 11+?

Trinity are making calls this morning for 11+.

Like you, Brownsugar3879, no letter, no phone call, and getting quite hacked off. Given the unreliability of the post where we are, the idea that no letter equals no rejection is sadly not convincing enough to give me confidence in a forthcoming interview.
