A few days early I know, but most of the entrance exams will be out of the way in a fortnight or so, and I'm sure there are a number of us who are in need of Brew or Biscuit or Wineas we watch our (still very little) boys forget everything that they may have learned over the last couple of years. And there are many veterans of the process who will hopefully be around to reassure us that we will all come through this unscathed.

Milk queen big hugs to you xx

LadyMuck · 16/01/2014 18:42

Sorry to hear that milkqueen. Hope that you get an offer from Whitgift and the your preferred state school.

Thanks all. Charlie was being really brave but he had a private weep. Its strange, he said the test at Whitgift was harder but dont understand what they are looking for at Trinity. Whitgift was a back up because he really wanted to go to Trinity. Well let shope he does well next week.

Brownsugar3879 · 16/01/2014 19:13

W interview done. Ds happy with interview. I on the other hand surprised that he did exceptionally well in his English as we've always known maths was his thing. Now we wait.. Wine Wine

Brownsugar3879 · 16/01/2014 19:15

Sorry to hear that MQ. we are still waiting here for Trinity. Letters have come today but nothing from T.

woodcote75 · 16/01/2014 19:35

Hi, my son has been invited for sports assessment at W on Monday for 10+. Does anyone know what to expect as he's a keen footballer but never really played cricket or rugby? Also, can anyone kindly shed some light on the interview and what we should brush up on? Tahnks for all your help x

AliceLostInWonderland · 16/01/2014 20:26

Hi All,
I went through this process 2 years ago and now, again in the running with my DS2!
Done with W interview today Smile...Interview with a Mr B...DS2 in the interview for 12 mins and DH and I only in for 5 mins Confused.
Haven't heard anything from T which is really worrying.

LadyMuck · 16/01/2014 20:30

I think T will be putting lots out of their misery tomorrow. Have to say that I'm impressed at how many boys W are packing in for interview so quickly!

Hi AliceLostInWonderland - did you see this as a negative then? Would have thought they would be more interested in your DS then you? Think you can gauge by the vibe you get rather than the time they talk to you? Could be wrong as new to me!

AliceLostInWonderland · 16/01/2014 20:34

milkqueen sorry to hear about T result...I am sure there is something really good in store for Charlie. Did he sit any grammar exams?

AliceLostInWonderland · 16/01/2014 20:41

Hi pooziepuzzle - when we went in for DS1 2 years ago we were in there for 15 mins and he was offered a place with a small % of scholarship. Today, with DS2 the interview went really well and Mr B even said that DS2 has scored high enough in Maths 'to be considered for a scholarship'.
He hardly asked us any questions, in fact, he kept on asking us if we had any questions Smile

pooziepuzzle · 16/01/2014 20:47

AliceLostInWonderland I think that sounds positive then if he may be considered for scholarship. Out of interest were you offered the place for DS1 and scholarship at interview or do you mean on offer day?

pooziepuzzle · 16/01/2014 20:49

Plus is DS1 at W? Maybe why he felt he didn't need to ask you too many questions!

AliceLostInWonderland · 16/01/2014 20:51

pooziepuzzle - all came through on the offers day.
However, I must say that this wait for results is excruciating Sad.

milkqueen · 16/01/2014 20:55

Thanks for the kind words Alice. I really feel for him. He got past the first and second stage for Wilson. Just waiting now. Just heard from a few other boys from his school that they did not pass Trinity but all had interview for Whitgift this week.

AliceLostInWonderland · 16/01/2014 21:00

oh milkqueen - he is clearly a bright boy as he has passed both stages of Wilson - this is a great achievement in itself. I am more than sure you will get the desired result on 3rd March.
DS2 passed both stages of Wilson and Wallington too.

LadyMuck · 16/01/2014 21:01

Wow, really unusual for someone to pass Wilsons and not get to interview at Trinity. Must be an ultra competitive year. Used to be the case that those who got Wilsons places got scholarships. At this rate Trinity is going to be its own level of superselective!

OP posts:
AliceLostInWonderland · 16/01/2014 21:06

I am worried too now...we haven't heard anything from T, whereas, DS very confident with his T exam. He found T exam much easier than W Confused.
pooziepuzzle - DS1 at a super-selective, in the end we had to turn W down as scholarship not enough for us to afford the fees.

AliceLostInWonderland · 16/01/2014 21:09

milkqueen - have you had the W interview?

milkqueen · 16/01/2014 21:22

His interview is tomorrow and sports assessment on Monday

AliceLostInWonderland · 16/01/2014 21:26

Good luck with the interview tomorrow - do let us know how it all went.

Teddingtonmum1 · 16/01/2014 22:04

Ok so I cracked and called admissions today , was told that they are contacting by letter only for interviews now but they are still behind and are issuing letters in daily batches until next midweek so if we don't have a letter by this time next week its plan b time

LadyMuck · 16/01/2014 22:45

Thanks for that Teddingtonmum. At least it is now just a matter of watching out for the postie once a day...

usualsuspect47 · 16/01/2014 23:01

Hi all - my son sat 10+ for W and T. He has interview booked for T which is our first choice school but we have still not heard anything from W. Unsure what to make of that but will continue to stalk my postie. Congrats to all who have interviews booked and fingers crossed for those of us still waiting for news.

Southwestmum73 · 16/01/2014 23:02

Sorry to hear to hear your news milkqueen. Good luck with W. Teddingtonmum did you call T or W?
