I'd love a nanny and a cleaner to fire. She cleans her kitchen floor every morning at 5am? Hmmm

Yeah right.

dobearsshitinthewoods · 25/04/2006 20:43

Nope batters you're not the only one. Is it a compulsion or a fetish I wonder?

handlemecarefully · 25/04/2006 20:45

Well I've read the article and most (not all) of the thread (must confessed eyes started glazing over and I grew bored of the repetition of the posts), and I don't get it?

The article wasn't revelationary, was of marginal interest and didn't contribute much - but it didn't cause my blood pressure to spike at all....

What's getting you all worked up? (genuine question)

Are there some baser emotions going on?

Sure - 'mental maths' sounds a bit daft...but I think the point the mum was trying to make was that her daughter was not as academically challenged. That's a valid concern?

Must say, I agree about the comments about the uniforms and boaters though Cod. I was walking back across the bridge just outside Salisbury library today (you know, near the bakers, a couple of market stalls and Sainsbury's) and there was a procession of prep school children being escorted on some sort of school trip - and the uniform did look poncey and elitist! I couldn't stop myself gritting my teeth (where my usual reponse is to think - ahh how sweet, a lovely little group of freshly scrubbed children)

kiskidee · 25/04/2006 20:52

We didn't make it there until around 10.00. Had to return overdue library books (£7 fine Blush).

oi, you lot, florence is a perfectly acceptable name! mine won't be wearing any pissy boaters however :o.

handlemecarefully · 25/04/2006 20:57

have lost your details with your business name on - useless feck I am.

dobearsshitinthewoods · 25/04/2006 20:57

If you sack your cleaner (or throw her in the fire) and get up at 5am to clean your kitchen floor, the £7.00 library fine will be easier to swallow

doobydoo · 25/04/2006 21:04

Good Grief!
What an awful article.I know it's just one mother's voice but she sounds dreadful.
