For the love of god! Long sleeved white school shirts...

Why can't I find anyone that has them in stock! All I need are some age 7 size. I'm off M&S as the last lot I bought went all grey dappley on the collar after a couple of washes. Does anyone know of an online store whe I can get good quality school shirts?

I get ours from ASDA, but you might like to have a look at John Lewis too.

With 4 dc and having conducted extensive trials, I have found Next to be the best, good quality fabric and they stay white and crisp.

Jonh Lewis are out of stock ffs! Cme on suppliers, it's nearly winter uniform and the wee bairns are freezing!

Blimey - Asda are cheap and the Next ones look pretty good to! The ones we are (ahem) supposed to but are about £17 each - EACH!!!!!!! Needless to say, I look for alternative suppliers, especially since DS is very hard on his clothes!

I have never brought long sleeve shirts - see no need as they wear jumpers and when they take jumpers off they have no mucky sleeves !

Stick with short sleeves all year

me neither! Don't really see how a few more inches of sleeve is going to make much difference tbh.

Marks is out of stock too (even if the bloody collars go weird). It's a cold cold walk to school! And they get told off if they're not in proper uniform.

As ASDA are at £1.75 each, then durability isn't my overriding concern.

I know just what you mean about stock levels - I'm trying to find navy tights at the moment. I was alert enough to buy them in when they appeared in August last year (sold out in a week); now, nowhere! Tights, they're needed in autumn and winter - is it so difficult to stock them then?

And to carry the colour of the local school in the local supermarket? Navy isn't a recherché colour - all the schools round here seem to have navy skirts. Why stock piles of black ones that don't sell and not navy ones. Aaargh!

DSs ones from Marks went weird. The collar ended up with a grey dappled marbling effect - and they weren't even old!

And our Sainsbos were out of stock too!

I buy mine from Debenhams, I find M&S sizing soooo small.

Tesco school shirts have always been really good and stay really white. Teenage boys are disusting both of my boys have been dirt magnets and tesco shirts have stood up to the rigors of school better than others.

I have four (I think) age 8 ones which DS refuses to wear, if you think they'd be any good, pm your address and you can have them :)

Why does he refuse to wear them? Are they desperately uncool?

I found m & s girls ones out of stock. Dd is wearing last years that ate slightly too small.

Isn't it mad that basic, seasonal, un-badged uniform (white shirts, blie tights) have run out in the major stockists? Its not like looking for ski suits in Ethiopia is it?

No long sleeves here, DD1 always wears short sleeves as she lives in the art room and it's far easy to push her sleeves up.

DD2 likes the expensive fitted 3/4 sleeved M&S blouses. Which I have to confess do suit her and seem to stay smart.

Tights, don't get me started on tights.

Believe it or not, oh clever shop buyers, small DDs fall over. They incompetently pull up their tights and stick their fingers through them and they grow!!!

Why is it rocket science to stock all sizes and colours of school tights between Sept and May.

Oh and while your about it, stop labelling them all a size bigger than they are!
