and the email from pan London is worse than pointless. Email tell us our next step....and then goes blank.

DD is my eldest so I have not been through this situation before.

Do we have to appeal now because that sounds ridiculous as we have not been given anything.

DD is so upset and it is very hard to comfort her. All I can do is tell her it is no reflection on her as a person and that we'll find her a good school.

What do we do now though? Can't speak to LEA till morning but feel I need to be armed with knowledge.

Can anyone help?

best wishes for you, sadmum

Just a quick update...

Yesterday we unexpectedly received a letter from one our preferred schools offering DD a place Grin

Think that the work done by the indomitable Mrs C has paid off. DD is over the moon.

Sadmum..how are things going for you and your DS?

Excellent news. I am pleased for you. Although I remain of the view that the way the LA has handled this is unacceptable.

You and me both. I was lucky in that I had the support of DD's school and I shudder to think how I would have coped with how the LEA has treated us if I had to do it on my own.

Thank you so much for your support at a time when I was feeling so distraught and anxious.

Thank you all for your support and kind words in my moment of despair, i couldn't of coped without you guys! I have today received a phone call that my DS has got a school place and we are both very happy..over the moon to be precise!!! =)

Ghostinthebackofyourhead - So glad things have worked out for you as well! It was rough being in the same boat, but seems we have docked on sandy pastures =)

And for anyone who has not yet received a school place of their choice - FIGHT FOR IT! My local admissions office said i was "the most persistant parent they had come across" - But it paid off! Good luck to everyone!

Again, excellent news. Pleased for you too.

I wonder if you are both in the same LA? I hope there aren't a string of LAs behaving this badly.
