Anyone else suffering from the jitters? DD has been for a couple of days now and now me. Coping strategies welcome. Grin

wigglybeezer thank you, that is good advice which I shall take, especially the advice on finding a tutor to help my DD on analytical skills and exam techniques.Interestingly you mentioned your younger sibling doing well, such is the case with my younger DD, improving all the time, possibly as she has not felt the same amount of pressure and expectation and is determined to prove herself. Older DD has now said she is going to work very hard toward her A levels. I can't argue with that.

As far as I am concerned I don't feel my children are getting second-best. They are at an 'outstanding' state school with improving results. They have parents who encourage them and a school with outstanding teaching and ethos. I don't for a moment feel like they are being deprived. As far as I'm concerned they can reach for whatever goal they wish and have a reasonable chance - with us and their school behind them. I went to a private school and yes, I got good results, but I still failed to get into Cambridge on interview. I lacked determination and enthusiasm - that is what my DC' school gives them in spades. Underdog my arse!
