Suddenly I'm getting very nervous - DS just doesn't want to think about it, which is fair enough. My 'what will be, will be' attitude has suddenly changed a little!

We actually made it into a bit of a family holiday last October, went to visit 3 unis in the same part of the country and went to see PIL during the same week.

I think the DC would have preferred somewhere in the sun! Grin

AJandJJmum did I remember correctly that your DS deliberatley didn't apply to Oxbridge and got offers from all his chosen Unis?
Or am I confusing you with anotherMN from the very long UCAS thread?

(Sorry, I couldnt keep away)

BecauseImWorthIt · 17/08/2010 20:47

Good luck everyone.

bigcar · 18/08/2010 11:03

hello, can I join the wait? Dd1 is waiting for results tomorrow, she's been fine until the start of this week and is now a little worried. Her school doesn't open until 10am for results so she's hoping the ucas website will tell her first thing if she's got her first choice uni place.

DandyDan · 18/08/2010 16:10

We're waiting for Son#1 - terribly worried that he'll get his grades to do politics. He screwed up his AS year so at least one A level is on wobbly ground this time.

fingers crossed everyone.
DS (waiting for AS results) can apparently get his online from 6am but for some rather odd reason he wants me to drive him down to his school at 10am so he can collect them in person!

pippop1 · 18/08/2010 22:31

DS2 is also waiting. I suggested he might have an early night tonight in case he needs to make any decisions tomorrow. He's met up with friends at a pub.

I told him to wake me up if he checks online for the results but if he doesn't then wake me up in time for one of us (him or me) drive him into school.

Be warned, the UCAS website crashes most years as too many people try and get onto it so just be patient and get to school.

Drayford · 18/08/2010 23:22

DD has to phone after 10 am for hers as she's not able to get them online. BUT ... she's got a driving lesson at 11.30 and has decided to wait until she returns...aaarrghhh!

BecauseImWorthIt · 18/08/2010 23:25

UCAS site, from 6am (assuming it won't crash) will tell you if your son/daughter has been offered a place.

mumblecrumble · 18/08/2010 23:27

Hey there, may I join you in support thread? My dauhter is only 2..... but I have 2 A2 students and 12 AS students waiting for results tomorrow....

I hate it every year and I hate to think of all of them and their parents all feeling like this..

Hopefully it will all be worth it!

Agree with hating allt he stuff in the press - seems quite cruel!

DandyDan · 19/08/2010 07:26

Well, I didn't sleep more than an hour last night. But checking with UCAS/Track this morning, Son does have a place at his second choice uni (and clearly did better than required in the subjects he wants to study - so there might be some negotiation that can be done with his first place uni). So great relief all round. He seems quite happy with his second-choice place as well. We get his proper results at 11am.

yay! well done to Riven's DD and Dandy's DS.
Debating whether to go and pour cold water of DS so he will check on line or wait until he can get them at school at 10am Hmm

congratulations to everyones dcs Smile

dd1 got her first choice place woooohoooooo Smile

mumoverseas · 19/08/2010 07:58

Riven its 'only' AS results we are waiting for so might let him have a little lie in. Although I suppose AS equally important to help him finalise UCAS choices. He has changed his mind so many times in the last week!

Well done bigcar's DD

faustina · 19/08/2010 08:03

Ds2, got into Cambridge! Never been so relieved in my entire life!

Good luck to everyone else!

mumoverseas · 19/08/2010 08:06

wow, we are a clever lot of parents Grin

happystory · 19/08/2010 08:26

How did you get onto track today Dandydan? Last night it said site would be down till mid-morning, and it appears to be!

BecauseImWorthIt · 19/08/2010 08:38

Thank goodness.

After trying to get on the UCAS site for an hour or so, DS1 got his results from school - AAB, and A* on his Extended Project!

As his offer was 260 points, including 2 Cs, he must have got his place.

What a relief.

I have cried twice already this morning.

Congratulations to those who got their grades, commiserations to those who didn't and are currently contacting universities.
DS2 is off to university at end of September but has been on a gap year, so is currently having a wonderful time/scaring us on one of his gap year trips, whilst I start to work out what bedding he'll need to take and how we are going to get him there with all his junk.
