Gah, my link didn't work here they are

Well done gruffle I couldn't find one of my items in a search over the weekend, but I thought I was just being stupid, I didn't realise there was a problem, that is rubbish

I'm not sure what I am going to do if all my stuff sells re parcels, just split it all over a couple of days?? Often people can take a few days to pay, which can spread it out again too.

I've never used the print postage option, so can't advise, would defeat the purpose of doing it if you still had to queue at the PO to get it, or maybe the fact that you buy it is proof in itself (although it's not really is it....)

NickNemo · 24/11/2009 22:01

The cot already has a bid at £10, so pleased with that, yay! Its a 7 day listing so hopefully it will go for a bit more. Will have to get DD out of the way while buyer is picking up though, she'll be very upset at her cot going away. Same with the highchair!

Grufflemummy, yes I had the same problem and not very pleased because one of my coats went for a lot less than I was hoping to get for it. I thought it was just me!

The highchair has two watchers, hopefully one of them will use the BIN!

Wuxiapian · 24/11/2009 23:14

Hmm.

Ok, so here's 4 lovely items of ladies-wear to begin with.

Good luck, all!!

mogs0 · 25/11/2009 00:16

EW - You've got quite a few bids - looking good!! I made about £140 last night but some of it is going to my friend and my Mum for their things (I'm going to have to start charging commission!!).

Gruffle - Well done! It's so satisfying when all your items sell. There were quite a few watchers on my pjs and tbh I didn't expect very much for them because I've found recently White Co doesn't sell as well. I can't believe the transport ones went for £8! I really hope the buyer likes them!

Nemo - glad you've got an early bid!! Hope you get a few more before the auction ends - I like the Paddington bear in the photo!!

I still have the PSP listed but haven't had any new bids since the weekend so fingers crossed there'll be a rush on at the end and it meets its reserve!!

I have made a huge list of things to put on next but I think I'll wait until this last lot are all paid for and posted. Only about 3 unpaid items and everything else has been posted so I won't have much excuse - I just feel a bit drained with it all but am loving the feeling of getting rid of things!

Tortoise · 25/11/2009 19:45

Gruffle When you print posatge you get a receipt to get signed and stamped at the PO. With the pile of items i had to post i just printed labels twice a day and took parcels in the morning when walking kids to school and again in the afternoon before picking them up.
Have one more to post and 3 waiting for payment!

Currently have 4 items with A bid!

Hi - can you help me with this request. Had a pair of boys shoes on and it didn't get a bid. Just got an email from a watcher saying she missed it and would I relist or do as a buy it now...what should I do?

Tortoise · 25/11/2009 21:14

janx I would ask them if they want to make you an offer, then re-list them at that BIN price. Or just say you will be re-listing them.

OP posts:
janx · 25/11/2009 21:18

Thanks ...seems silly but I don't really want to re-list them at 99p - they are sweet and would rather give them to somone - or the charity shop

Tortoise · 25/11/2009 21:20

Maybe worth seeing what BIN they would offer or just tell the an amount you would be happy with.
Or give them to charity/a friend.

Sold 16 items tonight, really pleased! Although my best seller was an age 8 diesel dress and the buyer has now said they thought it was an adults 8 so have offered a second chance to the next bidder (only 10p of a difference)

Tomorrow I will get packaging and posting!!!

I have had someone ask if I will do a buy it now on my younger boys suit and waistcoat, am also not sure what to suggest, I might ask them to make me an offer??!

Tortoise · 26/11/2009 12:22

One of my items sold on BIN.

NickNemo · 26/11/2009 13:01

Aw well done Tortoise!

Still got 3 watchers on the highchair, no bids... come on peeps!

4 watchers on the cot now, but at £10, its a bargain, so hope it goes up a bit.

mogs0 · 26/11/2009 13:25

I have just had the nicest email from a buyer EVER!! She has been so pleasant to deal with and I nearly cried reading her message because it was so nice. I wish all ebayers were as lovely!!

mogs0 · 26/11/2009 13:26

Also, I need a kick up the bum to get more things listed!! I have things that I didn't get around to listing last Christmas and I'll be so cross with myself if they're all still here by January!!!

ElizabethWakefield · 26/11/2009 16:43

I have had a few nice messages from buyers too, it's really nice isn't it?

I've posted out the first 10 items that have been paid for today. I didn't go to my usual PO and the server huffed and puffed and complained about the amount i had even tho there was not another single person waiting to be served

Tortoise · 26/11/2009 17:09

I have a couple more toys that i MUST get listed tomorrow night.

OP posts:
janx · 26/11/2009 21:40

Tortoise - took your advice about those pair of shoes - asked her what she would offer and she got back to me with a good offer for BIN - you are so clever! So I just re-list and then let her know? - thanks for your help

Tortoise · 26/11/2009 22:42

Janx That's great. Yes just re-list as a BIN and let them know the item number so they can find it easily.

Well, sold the higchair for £10, so the buyer has got an absolute bargain. But as DH said, ist £10 more than we had yesterday!!

Its being picked up tomorrow morning and I asked for cash on collection (love screwing PayPal out of some fees).

Have to make sure now that DD is kept out of the way otherwise we'll have a tantrum, she loves that highchair

Tortoise · 27/11/2009 22:09

I made £27.74 tonight.
Pair of DD2's jeans which didn't sell last time, went for £5.50!

Been busy today so will list few bits tomorrow night. Probably won't be much. Need to put everything back in the cupboard soon. Think this will be my last week of selling before christmas.

Have been rather lax on the ebaying front but have relisted some items.

mogs0 · 28/11/2009 08:15

I have an item that sold on Monday. The buyer emailed a couple of days later and asked if they could pick-up but I don't live where they thought so not possible. Then they emailed to say they'd pay next week. I've just checked their FB and they've won and paid for other items of higher value since my auction ended. I'm wondering how far into next week is reasonable for me to wait until I email again if I haven't received payment.

IdrisTheDragon · 28/11/2009 08:50

I think the non paying bidder process has speeded up a bit ie after 4 days you can do something now whereas it used to be 7 days. I would probably wait until Tuesday and then start chasing it.

It annoys me when people don't pay.

wheresmypaddle · 28/11/2009 09:05

Hi everyone, I wondered if you guys know what is the 'etiquette' when advertising items already on ebay on mumsnets selling pages.

I have listed four lovely new but unwanted items on ebay. It's the first time I have tried to sell on ebay. They would make great gifts and have no reserve so was hoping to attract lots of bids but my auction ends on Sunday night and three items have only one bid of 99p and one has no bids. Gutted!!

So am considering advertising them on the mumsnet selling pages as am hoping mumsnetters will see that they are great gifts at a bargain,(but this will cost me £5 to register with CAT thingy).

Not sure of the 'etiquette' when doing this though - do I just point mumsnetters towards my ebay items or suggest a price and then if anyone wants them I could take my ebay items off ebay (if this is possible).

Tortoise · 28/11/2009 09:47

Wheresmypaddle The only way to do it is to pay the CAT. But you can link to your listings on this thread! (Well we do anyway lol!)

I think you could end your listing early if someone made you an offer but i guess then you would lose any listing fees.
