Summer Ebay Challenge!!! Shall we try for another £300?

mogs0 · 18/04/2009 20:10

I need motivating to de-clutter and make my bank account look a bit healthier!!! I've got loads of bags and boxes packed with car-boot stuff that didn't sell the other week so might start with that and list those things at 99p just to make a bit of space.

Anyone with me? Shall we set the deadline for end of Summer term (about the 18th July here)?

Thanks TOMP. I have had a look for that. Tried the contact Ebay bit too but page won't work.
Turbo lister has downloaded but still trying to do the authorisation bit. What a pain!

Tortoise · 23/04/2009 21:45

Right, i ahve managed to send an email to Ebay! Lets see what happens next.

SNOWBall4girlz · 23/04/2009 22:30

any luck yet tortoise

I am listing at the mo it is slow but working
hope you sort out the glitch.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 24/04/2009 07:46

right i am now gogin to take all the childrens clothes to our local "designer" kids boutiquey shop whihc has a second hand section as just not woth the hassle or time on ebay - cna i count that towards my £300 ?? and the adult clothes - which aren't many i will ebay ( they are all boden / joules big sizes) . then i will start on the other stuff around the house including the 3 pushchairs in the shed - never thought of flogging them on ebay . do you do collection only ? if not how do you ge tthem sent out ?

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 24/04/2009 10:06

Since this thread started on 18th April I've sold items worth £226.15

bloody hell

How's everyone else doing?

I'm going to a carboot tomorrow to see if I can pick up anything interesting and also to replce some of the stuff I went a bit mad selling on Ebay

Still got to list a Virgin Vie necklace (unwanted gift, it's fecking horrible!), a baby cot bumper toy wotsit, the leather clock I meant to do earlier and would it be awful to Ebay a carriage clock we got for a wedding present that's hideous and we hate and is gathering dust in a corner?

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 24/04/2009 10:13

Mummydoc, what buggies are they? I can help you out with what you'd likely get for them and if it's worth your bother.

I use www.senditnow.com and it costs £10.99 and they use Parcel Force so trustworthy, you can arrange it online and they pick up the boxes from your house. had two buggies go this week with them, no problems. You'll always stand a better chance of selling big items, and also getting more for them if you can box them up for a courier.

mummydoc · 24/04/2009 11:10

ooh marypops - thanks for suggestion i have a loola bebe ( no car seat, just the pushchair bit) a quinney zapp , think will keep ancient third one for visiitors as not a "name" and very old but serviceable type. will also now go explore the shed for other biggish items i could flog ( perhaps DH....)

TrinityIsLovingHerLittleRhino · 24/04/2009 11:12

noone cares I am reduced to a kids camera with no batteries to list my stuff

Tortoise · 24/04/2009 11:16

Seems to be working now. Email from Ebay wasn't any help! Maybe it was a technical glitch! Don't want to list it until tonight though.
No more bids and almost no watchers on it all. But still have 5 days to go.

TR Kids camera will be fine as long as pics are clear. DD1's vtech one takes pretty good pictures.

TrinityIsLovingHerLittleRhino · 24/04/2009 11:17

thanks tortoise
it is a vtech kidizoom

now I need to find batteries

mummydoc · 24/04/2009 11:27

trinity I feel your pain abou the camera, if you would like to pop along at the end of surgery i could give you some cream for it, failing that take 2 paracetmol and see me agin on monday if you are no better......

mummydoc · 24/04/2009 11:28

oops have flipped from appointment screen to mumsnet without even realising the difference.....thank goodness it is friday.....

notcitrus · 24/04/2009 11:29

Numpty says sorry and will pay as soon as he can get some money from the bank...
Sent invoice to buyer in Spain who couldn't read 'UK bidders only'... it's only a 99p item so I'm not too fussed either way.

Think though I might have already posted one item that wasn't paid for.. at least it's only a £2 item.

Auctiva runs hugely slowly for me and you have to drop down all the menus yourself so it's not as user-friendly as Ebay.

Still to do: a veggie leather skirt, a caravan digital TV aerial, and a lovely pair of mini Boden trousers, if I can convince myself that my pfb really has grown out of them...

TrinityIsLovingHerLittleRhino · 24/04/2009 12:02

roffle mummydoc

SNOWBall4girlz · 24/04/2009 12:38

hi everyone

sold a couple more bits but my total is only about £30 pounds since the 18th April.

Put my dd4 dresses on need to put the girls uniform dresses on now

no bids at the mo but a few watchers.
lol at kddies camera dd4 wants one for her birthday I know they take good pics now!!

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 24/04/2009 13:38

TRA kids cam will be fine as long as it's not something you need to show great detail on

Mummydoc, try out the for sale boards here or locally for your loola and zapp - no ebay fees and no Paypal fees if you ask them to do it as a personal gift ;)
on Ebay, the Zapps are going for between £50 and £70 and the Loola between £50 and £100 depending on accessories, condition and colour.

notcitrus what on earth is a veggie leather skirt?

bubblerock · 24/04/2009 14:36

Do any Auctiva users know why my scrolling items are only show 4 things and saying they are closed when they're not??? I can't find any info on auctiva at all

Momma23 · 24/04/2009 14:57

Hi can i join in.. Need some cash injection into our house and have loads to get rid off. Going to post some tonight, i have

Coast skirt & top
steriliser
baby monitors
baby dresses
sandles black

and i am sure i can dig out more if i have a good look round.

I am setting a target of 100 and see if i can make it.

SNOWBall4girlz · 24/04/2009 15:02

bubble you mght need to renew your autiva token?

normally get an e-mail reminding you.

notcitrus · 24/04/2009 15:33

marypopps - it looks and feels like a black leather knee-length skirt, but is made of some synthetic stuff. so popular among vegetarians who prefer to avoid leather if there's a decent alternative.
It's lovely but no way am I going to get that size (14ish) again. Sigh.

bubblerock · 24/04/2009 16:27

oops - I renewed the token, although it was still in date and ended up with 2 galleries!! It seems to just have one now but still only showing 4 items. They seem to have had a problem earlier this week but it says it was resolved so I've emailed them. Thanks Snowball

I did start to set up a freestore though which was really easy - has anyone else done this? I need to figure out how to add categories though if anyone has any idea??

Also have a bid on the game and yoga DVD! woohoo, the rest are doing nothing though.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 24/04/2009 17:00

bubblerock, that store thing, howdo? it looks great does it run off Ebay still?

notcitrus thanks :D I will also never see a 14 again lol

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 24/04/2009 17:02

anyone got an old Playstation 2 knocking about, was surprised to see that they still sell well I have one upstairs that's not been played for a good 3 years so going to dig it out and some games and whack that on too, should get about £25 or more looking on completed listings prices.
