Bit concerned.....

I had an item listed on BIN for collection.

Someone has bought & paid via Paypal.

They have 0 feedback & their address is Kent which is 2 hours drive from me

The item isn't worth travelling all that way!!

She's asked to collect this weekend - I just feel very concerned about it - I had also stated cash on collection preferred.

I just have a really bad feeling....

is it a Christmas present? cos that is a very good reason for someone to drive all that way.

They might have a relative near you who will pick up for them or they may be heading your way anyway.
Hav you mailed them about collection? Make sure you're not alone when they come.

It's a toy garage from ELC, just odd as there's a few on Ebay who were willing to post.

Just so nervous of scammers!

Going to make DH is home when they collect!

The other I worry about is people wanting to burgle us so checking when we'll be out!!!!!!!

Perhaps if the garage is for a Christmas present, they didn't want to risk the post (and it not getting there on time).

Maybe they had already planned to travel in your direction.

If they've paid already by paypal then I'd just wait for them to turn up.

we recently had a high bid from a newbie, it was all fine! there are alot at the moment

I bought a keyboard on Ebay that was in Cheltenham (we live in Blackpool) it was collection only but my Mum was going down to visit relatives so she collected it. They might be doing the same.

if you don't hear by the morning, you can request their phone number from ebay and call them

I've just emailed again to ask them to let me know what day/time they will collect.

I'm more nrevous that they've paid via Paypal as I'm screwed if they put in a claim!

Refund via paypal and write a note explaining why you need cash on collection.

I expect they dont realise.

They are most likely visiting people your way. I've done this before and hence the weekend colection.

Trouble is if they tell Ebay I've done that I can get in trouble as you have to except Paypal now.

I'll try & make sure DH is in uniform when they come to collect!

I'm hoping the sight of DH in his uniform (he's a copper) will be enough to stop them trying anything!

It's sad really that the scammers out there are making us sellers tar everyone with the same brush

god, I had a women drive from central london to my place to collect a £5 mirror

I thought they were mad.. but hey!

could've got one in camden for less than it cost then to come here and there was a whopping grat crack in the frame

Could you print out the ebay & paypal details twice - you both sign & you both keep a dated copy? Also could note down their car numberplate - how would you know that if they hadn't been to collect their item.

I recently had buyer paypal and collect quite expensive item all was fine they were lovely and left immediate lovely feedback.
I think it's hard to remember the scammers are the minority.

I had a buyer who lived 4 hours away ask me to let him know when item was ready for collection. He sent a courier to collect it which was a surprise.

Random sadly Paypal wouldn't accept that & would automatically refund.

Normally I would just send a recipt in the post recorded delivery to get a tracking number but with Xmas post it would take forever to get there.

Still no reply as to when they're coming to collect yet....
