ToThrottleablackbird · 28/11/2008 15:16

Could you arrange your own courier?

ToThrottleablackbird · 28/11/2008 15:36

I cant afford to tbh, thats why I bid on that because of how cheap it was

MotherChristmas2OliverJames · 28/11/2008 15:36

they are required by law to send it to you under the terms and conditions of the listing, it is a legally binding contract.

ToThrottleablackbird · 28/11/2008 15:38

I dont know OliverJames

OP posts:
piscesmoon · 28/11/2008 15:40

They seem to have made a real mess of listing it so I am not sure where you stand. It appears to offer free postage and packing by 2nd class mail but that is impossible because 2nd class only goes up to 1kg in weight.

MotherChristmas2OliverJames · 28/11/2008 15:41

yeah, apparently someone was taken to court because they had accidently listed their yaught for £10 and wanted to back out of the agreement but the buyer won in court and the seller was forced to give up the yaught for a tenner!

so my mum was telling me!

piscesmoon · 28/11/2008 15:41

The problem is MotherChristmas, it is impossible to send the way it was listed.

ToThrottleablackbird · 28/11/2008 15:41
Shock

MotherChristmas2OliverJames · 28/11/2008 15:45

please excuse my terrible spelling

it may not be possible o send it that way but it is at least a good barganing position to either;
A) just back out of the listing and both forget about it or
B) to split the cost of a courier

SoupDragon · 28/11/2008 15:47

Oh, she's clearly made a mistake with the listing. Give her a break.

MotherChristmas2OliverJames · 28/11/2008 15:51

but soupdragon, if she is expecting the buyer to pick it up still its hardly fair is it?
Esp if it was only bought because of how cheap it is.

TBH i think that the best solution would be to pretend it didnt happen, you wont be getting that bargin but at least you wont be paying lots more than you thought for something

ChopsTheDuck · 28/11/2008 15:54

fgs, you only won it for £10!
She has obviously madea amistake and I think you are being mean tbh. You could arrange a courier with parcels2gop for around £10 then £20 is still a bargain for the buggy. She then has the hassle of packing it and waiting in for a courier so she pays for her mistake too.

MotherChristmas2OliverJames · 28/11/2008 15:55

is a courier really that cheap? i would have thought it to be at least 30/40 pounds?

SoupDragon · 28/11/2008 15:58

No, she shouldn't insist it is picked up, they should "mutually agree not to conclude the transaction" or whatever the Ebay wording is.

ChopsTheDuck · 28/11/2008 15:58

youd need the measurements to get an exact quoite, but Ive sent allsorts with them very cheaply.

SoupDragon · 28/11/2008 15:58

Not everyone has the option of being able to wait in for the cheap couriers to turn up.

ChopsTheDuck · 28/11/2008 16:00

£8 plus vat based on the folded size.

ChopsTheDuck · 28/11/2008 16:03

but the seller did make a mistake. I think the buyer paying for a courier is a fair compromise.

ToThrottleaRedRobin · 28/11/2008 16:03

Chops. TBH I only got this because of the price and because it was 'free postage. Fair enough, she may have made a mistake but she is denying it even says that.
