Sold my Stokke minicot kit - buyer now disputes the content

I listed it exactly - matress, cot base, feet and drape rod, and said that it was to convert a Sleepi into a minicot which wasn't included. She received it and says that she didn't understand that the sides and wheels weren't included, and oh, I pictured the original box and didn't include that (propped everythin against it, and would have used it, but things would have got damaged as would have knocked around). Also says the drape rod wasn't included, which it was.

She wants a refund and says my listing wasn't clear.

I've checked it and it was perfectly clear.

What would you do ?

Can you give us a link to the item?

cmotdibbler · 21/04/2008 13:38

Yes here

Seems clear to me

ImflightbutIcantlogintoday · 21/04/2008 13:41

How did she pay? If it was paypal you might have to have it back, it depends if they realise your listing was clear and they can be quite obtuse afaik...on the buyer's side rather - point out exactly how your listing was clear and she might have to back off.

Some buyers don't read properly and then blame you.

Let her open a dispute if she wants to take it that far - worst thing that can happen is they ask her to return it and you only have to refund original price (inc postage).

Or you could refund her minus the postage each way as she has basically cocked up and it isn;t your fault. Offer that option first to save the paypal dispute trauma, and the original postage. She pays return shipping either way.

misdee · 21/04/2008 13:43

its quite obvious. you even say the sleepi isnt included.

i am sick and tired of ebayers who dont reads properly.

drape rod if pictured at the back of that lot isnt it?

Fimbo · 21/04/2008 13:44

Link looks perfectly clear to me.

cmotdibbler · 21/04/2008 13:45

She paid with PayPal. Think I'll offer to refund on return of the set.

Just annoyed as I thought I'd done my best in listing it and she was so snotty.

Tell her you'll refund if she sends it back (at her cost) as she's obviously misunderstood.

It's perfectly clear.

Although you risk not getting the drape rod back, so tell her if that doesn't arrive back you'll only partially refund.

Her negatives are - erm - interesting reading, especially the one that says she has 'buying compulsive disorder'

ImflightbutIcantlogintoday · 21/04/2008 13:47

It is perfectly clear and you use the words 'not included' so paypal should be fine with that imo!

I would say to her, no, you will not accept it back, but the thing is she might put it to paypal and then you are risking it iyswim. as they do favour buyers.

Ridiculous I know but you could have it back and ensure you subtract all your own costs before refunding. Then relist as it looks like similar items would make the same amount, and you might even get more.

She has 750 odd fb she should know better, what a crock!

Flibbertyjibbet · 21/04/2008 13:47

Its not that clear to me.
You say the Stokke sleepi is not included yet your picture includes the Stokke Sleepi box.
Then later on you say 'the mini cot is lovely for small babies'. But you are not selling a mini cot, you are selling something to add to something you are not selling, to make a mini cot.

Also your listing states 'Stoke Mini Cot Kit' and usually if one is buying a kit, one expects it to make whatever the kit title is, in this case 'stokke mini cot' kit.

When you compare your listing to this one perhaps you can see that this one is much clearer.

cmotdibbler · 21/04/2008 13:47

Misdee - yes thats the drape rod. And I know absolutely that it was in there as it was tricky fitting it all neatly together.

Thanks for looking at it - you do doubt yourself a bit don't you ?

ImflightbutIcantlogintoday · 21/04/2008 13:48

Have you looked at her FB? Neg in the last month for being a compulsive complainer, I would not refund. Call her bluff. She shouldn't be allowed to get away with this sort of crap.

ImflightbutIcantlogintoday · 21/04/2008 13:49

AND she is rude to people who left her POSITIVE, using text speak!

She is trying it on big time!

Flibbertyjibbet · 21/04/2008 13:50

or even this one

if its still not linking, its item 110242454674

ImflightbutIcantlogintoday · 21/04/2008 13:51

Plus she has bought This recently so presumably she does have the cot anyway...

ImflightbutIcantlogintoday · 21/04/2008 13:52

Flibs you can always find a way to misunderstand but there's nothing much more that could have been done to make it clear imo.

Fact is the buyer is not playing fair and her feedback shows this, I think...well I would not want to deal with her.

cmotdibbler · 21/04/2008 14:04

I've offered the refund, minus postage. Am a bit worried that she'll leave me neg feedback though.

OP posts:
Fimbo · 21/04/2008 14:06

She's not very pleasant to people is she? Why is she posting that someone is dirty, when they left positive feedback?

ImflightbutIcantlogintoday · 21/04/2008 14:09

Gawd, have you seen her 'Me' page?

Nuff said...nuff said.

Good luck Cmot. I think we have a right one here!

Yes, probably best to be really really nice but firm iyswim...don't refund any of her postage...and don't leave fb till she has.

Just look at her feedback 'left for others' and you will see what I mean.

ImflightbutIcantlogintoday · 21/04/2008 14:10

Put lots of kisses on your messages as well and call her hun.
Say sorry a lot.
It might do the trick.

cmotdibbler · 21/04/2008 14:22

So, she says that she thought the sides would be included etc and wants me to refund the postage too.

OP posts:
Yurtgirl · 21/04/2008 14:30

Given what she has written on her profile about compulsively buying stuff she doesnt need - I would treat her harshly tbh. Dont be taken in by her. You listed it clearly, she bought it on a whim and now she regrets it - I wouldnt bother being too kind if it were me.

PErhaps complain to ebay - she is definately mucking you about

cmotdibbler · 21/04/2008 14:36

I have sent a message to ebay about it - I particularly don't like the way she writes to people, and I'm not in the mood to be down 10 quid, plus all the hassle of the packaging.

I was starting to feel really positive about selling on ebay, and then you get this.

ninedragons · 21/04/2008 14:45

God, I'm mildly concerned for the baby that is going to be born to this nutjob. Hopefully all her baby-related purchases are for one of those weird reborn dolls and not for a real child.

Beelliesebub · 21/04/2008 15:01

To be honest I think she's after the drape rod for nowt....
Tell her to knob off!
