Sold my Stokke minicot kit - buyer now disputes the content

I listed it exactly - matress, cot base, feet and drape rod, and said that it was to convert a Sleepi into a minicot which wasn't included. She received it and says that she didn't understand that the sides and wheels weren't included, and oh, I pictured the original box and didn't include that (propped everythin against it, and would have used it, but things would have got damaged as would have knocked around). Also says the drape rod wasn't included, which it was.

She wants a refund and says my listing wasn't clear.

I've checked it and it was perfectly clear.

What would you do ?

Oh fgs. She's now raised a PayPal claim for 'goods significantly not as described'.

Straight up?

What a loon. I know paypal favour the buyer but seriously, I think she will have a job persuading them that 'not included' means 'yes and you get this thrown in for nothing too!' as though Stokke cots went regularly for under £150.

Stupid, stupid woman. Ring paypal and speak to them in person - they open at 6am - 08707307191.

They might just look at the listing while you're on the phone and see what you said makes sense, it can't harm your case anyway.

I have heard of sellers winning cases btw.

Tell her to list it on ebay herself, it will cost her less that way because she won't have to pay return postage and she'll make what she paid. There aren't many on ebay and they seem to go for £50 so she ought to just do that and stop wasting everyone's time.

It's her problem and she's trying to blame you. Harsh all the way now she's brought in the cavalry. I hate the way she puts kisses on her listing titles as well.

I phoned PayPal and the very nice man told me to escalate it, and if I had sent what I had listed, then there would be no way that she would be found in favour of.

Oh brilliant - I love paypal sometimes. It's their accents. (was there a thread about the recorded message sounding a bit, ahem, odd, the other day?)

Glad you've got some help there.

She is being an idiot. Have you added her to your blocked list yet? Do it now!

Fimbo · 21/04/2008 16:40

That sounds good cmotdibbler. Fingers crossed it all works out. What a numpty that woman is!

cmotdibbler · 21/04/2008 16:41

Yes, have blocked her as I've got other bits on.
The recorded message is one of those computer generated avatar things - but the nice man was all Irish loveliness

Also she'll have to prove it isn't as described, I think - I once had to get a shop to write a report on a buggy for me, it cost £12.50. I was so cross. It was a real heap of a buggy too. They might have changed the procedure now but anyway it's down to her.
Hopefully you should be rid in a few days!

ImflightbutIcantlogintoday · 21/04/2008 16:43

Well done cmot

There was a thread, saying it sounded like the bloke was, erm going for it in between options iyswim. I can't remember if it was in chat but everyone was ringing paypal just to hear it

I didn't...I ring them enough anyway

cmotdibbler · 21/04/2008 16:46

Ah - I think I know the noise you mean !

I had to do it just now, I almost forgot to hang up when they asked for my ID, heehee

It sounds like he's stirring his coffee!!!

It used to be a woman, 'Welcome to paypal' but they have changed it.

cmotdibbler · 30/04/2008 13:09

Just to let you know, PayPal found in my favour. Have heard nothing more from the buyer, and no abusive feedback (yet)

OP posts:
davidtennantsmistress · 30/04/2008 13:23

looks like it's been relisted - but if buyers are anything like I am they look into things on the sellers feedback to see if she's recently brought it.

Odd how her postage charge is £5 more than yours thou???
