Am I the worst e-bayer ever!

Bought a bugaboo parasol on e-bay recently. Got carried away and paid as much as it would have been if I had got off my arse and gone to the shop and bought a new one. Turns out it doesn't fit my type of bugaboo. So - thinking some-one else would be as stupid as me and spend the same amount - put it back on e-bay. It just sold for less than half as much as I paid for it! Feeling utterly demotivated by my first e-bay experience. Any one have any worse ones?

taffy101 · 20/05/2007 20:37

you win some, you lose some! better luck next time

bizziebee · 20/05/2007 20:40

It's a gecko - it seemed too big and just kept slipping down.

dd u not get the book with the parasol, there are certain points it fits on

bizziebee · 20/05/2007 20:47

Oh bloody hell- have i just sold a parasol that would have fitted?

OP posts:
misdee · 20/05/2007 20:49

yup!

liquidclocks · 20/05/2007 20:52

I know it's a bit naughty and you risk negative feedback but you could email the buyer and say it has been damaged and then give tem a full refund...

Depends how high your current score is, whether you mind or if you cold easily start over with a new ID.

I'm very bad person, tell me off now

kittypants · 20/05/2007 20:53

oh dear!

kid · 20/05/2007 20:54

I agree with liquidclocks. Check if it fits your one first, if it does, tell the seller its no longer available.

bizziebee · 20/05/2007 20:55

I think i just want to post the bloody thing off - and never see another parasol for the rest of my life! dd will just have to have the sun in her eyes!

If you get negative feedback on you first transaction, you'll have 100% negative feedback.

Like taffy said, you win some, you lose some.

misdee · 20/05/2007 20:58

just checked bugabooc.om it says it can go on the handles or handle bar, only ever put it o na foam covered part.

bizziebee · 20/05/2007 21:00

I think i tried that. Hope I haven't sold a faulty product. This just gets worse!

Flamesparrow · 20/05/2007 21:00

Nah, refund the money, start a new id

misdee · 20/05/2007 21:01

says put the sharper bit on first?

bizziebee · 20/05/2007 21:04

Right - have just tried it. It fits! I am so hopeless! Can't get negative feedback though cos have currently got a couple of jackets on.

LynetteScavo · 20/05/2007 21:04

Agree with falme sparrow, if it is ok, you've got no + feed back to loose, so refund and start a new id.

bizziebee · 20/05/2007 21:05

thanks misdee for looking into this for me - should have done this earlier!

OP posts:
LynetteScavo · 20/05/2007 21:08

If you give a really good excuse as to what has happened to it, you might not get negative feedback

Flamesparrow · 20/05/2007 21:11

As long as the buyer isn't an MNer

bizziebee · 20/05/2007 21:11

Any ideas! Other than pleading with them!

OP posts:
misdee · 20/05/2007 21:13

tell them you stepped on it and its snapped.

liquidclocks · 20/05/2007 21:15

Honestly - I've done it - I couldn't find an item I'd sold. I told the buyer I'd damaged it and gave her a full refund. I asked her to leave me neutral feedback as a negative would damege my rating and gave her a full refund. In exchange I said I'd give her a positive - geuess what, she was lovely and gave me positive too!

bizziebee · 20/05/2007 21:19

How do you go about refunding? can you do it through paypal?

OP posts:
Housemum · 20/05/2007 21:34

Yep - there's a button on paypal to give a refund - I think all you lose is the Paypal fee. Got to your account on Paypal where it shows the transactions.
