I have sold an item for babies/toddlers and have received a message asking for 'discreet packaging'. A little bit of online searching reveals that the buyer is a teenage boy living in a very rural area. It is an item that somebody could use for other than its intended purpose, iyswim.

I don't feel comfortable sending out the item, but don't want to totally embarrass them either. They have paid but I haven't posted yet.

I am struggling to see a potty as a fetish device, or most baby/toddler items tbh. Wee and poo related, the closest thing I can think of is nappies as there is some weird fetishes there.

I’m genuinely baffled. Whatever it is my DC would only have stopped using within the last 6 months, yet I have no clue what OP is on about.

Potties are dead cheap, who would buy a used potty?
Cloth Nappies on other hand, quite popular 2nd hand, esp. larger sizes.

ILikeMyChickenFried · 06/05/2018 07:54

Maybe the boy has an issue that means he needs nappies rather than has some fetish

It would never have struck me to consider what the buyer wants to do with the item once it's sold. I think it's really intrusive that you have googled his identity as well. If you have conditions attached to the sale such as the appropriateness of the buyer then rather than use Ebay you should find a more exclusive market such as NCT for nursery items.

Orangepear · 06/05/2018 08:04

Why can't you say what the item is?

Littleredboat · 06/05/2018 08:09

Just when you think this place can’t get any weirder, there we go.

Evangeline3 · 06/05/2018 08:57

I hope someone buys it and does use it for alternative purposes, whatever they could possibly be. Like you can tell what people will do with your item.
Don't sell a used potty/ nappy then.

Teenage boys do have babies/toddlers sometimes!
