Perhaps to show off their lamenate flooring rather than the thing they are selling, lol.

Aloveheart · 01/03/2007 16:23

And cold.

zippitippitoes · 01/03/2007 16:24

because they don't have white baths

HEIFER · 01/03/2007 16:24

perhaps they wont to show you why they are selling the clothes - to afford to buy real wood!

danceswithnewboots · 01/03/2007 16:24

Don't know but when I sold something on ebay for the first time I took it up to the bathroom to photograph it on the.....laminate floor (only one in the house) I thought it was a law of the land

'you may raise pigs on the green and thou must photograph ityms for sale against fake wood flooring'

nailpolish · 01/03/2007 16:26

dances you arent supposed to have laminate in kitchen or bathroom

MrsBadger · 01/03/2007 16:34

cos people have no imagination

I've only sold small things and usually take pics on white towels or dark cushion covers

southeastastra · 01/03/2007 16:36

my dp is an ebay photography ponce, he takes ages setting things up and uses coloured card or animal prints as background.

someone once nicked my picture to sell their babygate! i was horrified it was my hall and everything

most of our stuff was photographed in the garden - obviously we are amateurs

Troutpout · 01/03/2007 16:42

It looks clean...the objects photograph well from it..
But mostly...it kinda says 'i've got laminate so my house has been redecorated at some point in the last 20 years . i am therfore not too minging even though i may have little style'
I only have laminate in one room in the house and always use it for my ebay pics

NP actually it's expensive amtico type stuff but didn't want rhubarb on here ticking me of for boasting

Legacy · 01/03/2007 16:45

LOL - don't know, but it IS isn't it????

And I do it...

Think it's something about the semniotics of wood flooring - for most people it has positive connatations? Looks more like a shop? Is more 'generic' IYSWIM? Nothing puts me off an item more than seeing it photographed on some old manky carpet or bedspread....

If it wasn't for eBay photos, my floor would probably never get cleaned
