I'm getting back into my eBaying, massive clear outs will keep me busy over this free listings weekend, wondered if anyone wanted to join me in making Christmas as cheap as possible and having the good people of eBay pay for most of it!

OP posts:
McPhee · 03/10/2012 15:29

I did the cancellation request and he's refused Hmm

He reckons it doesn't say I only post to the UK.....but it does Confused

Now what?

McPhee · 03/10/2012 15:29

How do I block outside UK bidders? Where do I look?

LineRunner · 03/10/2012 16:10

I think you go into Account > Site Preferences > ?Buyer Preferences/Block Bidders. I did it ages ago, and blocked bidders outside the UK and bidders with two or more non-paying strikes.

Also there is good advice on this kind of malarkey on the Ebays site under Community > Discussion Boards > Seller Central/New to Selling. I read those boards quite a lot just to pick up tips.

Personally I would report the buyer, but fergoose may know a better route?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 03/10/2012 17:07

Does anyone have any idea when the next free listing weekend will be?

I've sorted a load of things to list and want to get them all ready to go at once on a FLW. If I had a deadline, I might get my act together and get the listings ready!

LineRunner · 03/10/2012 17:17

No, I was looking at Ebays news but couldn't see anything.

lljkk · 03/10/2012 17:36

Next FLW either this weekend or next, if they follow previous pattern (every 2-3 weeks). I'd be shocked if neither was FLW. I plan to get loads ready for this weekend. I got about 20x99p listings up the other night, too. They often don't announce FLW until about 4pm on the Friday.

I worked out today that if I could earn £36/week after all costs (assuming my time worth nothing) that it would be same as if I were working a real job 3 days/week. So £36/week my new goal, until Xmas at least.

Obviously must not frivolously spend that hoped-for weekly income!

LineRunner · 03/10/2012 17:44

I must admit I'm flagging a bit.

But I like your maths, lljkk. That's a really good way of looking at it.

BeaWheesht · 03/10/2012 19:05

Hi all

Is someone has already bid on an item and someone else offers a buy it now price how does that work? As in I don't have buy it now set up but they Are asking if I would - I've no clue how to do this!!

LineRunner · 03/10/2012 19:20

If you search MN using 'Advanced Search' I'm pretty sure Fergoose has advised before on BINs etc.

BeaWheesht · 03/10/2012 19:27

Thanks line runner will have a look

BeaWheesht · 03/10/2012 19:28

Hmmm don't think can do advanced search on phone ...

fergoose · 03/10/2012 19:37

you can't add a buy it now if there is a bid on an item - if you want to change to a buy it now you will need to cancel the bid. Or you can get the new bidder to bid their amount, and then you can end the item early to the highest bidder.

Btw if someone is asking for a buy it now you don't have to agree to it if you don't want - if you prefer to leave the auction to run until the end that is fine and your choice.

Mirage · 03/10/2012 20:02

I've sorted out my BFPO problem,I tried another post office and they had no problem with it,plus my buyer is very nice and helpful.

I think I've passed the £300 mark, but can only see what I have sold in the past 31 days though so can't be sure. There has been well over £300 in my paypal account, but that includes postage as well.If I can keep this up I'll be able to make up some of the money from losing some of my day jobs.

I'm off the the real life auctions next week,to see if there is anything there I can flip.

If anyone is thinking of selling ski stuff, I just sold a pair of salopettes for a very good price, they had 25 watchers.

LineRunner · 03/10/2012 20:07

I have some ski stuff, thanks for the tip. I thought it would be too early.

BeaWheesht · 03/10/2012 20:27

Thanks so much fergoose!!

McPhee · 03/10/2012 21:06

Thanks Linerunner, I think I've sorted it. Mind you, I bet it'll still come back and bite me on the bum. I've changed my preferences, and blocked those you suggested. The buyer had only ever brought one item, from french ebay Hmm, so I sent him an email saying I wouldn't be sending him the item even if he disagreed Confused.

I'm hoping he'll just sod off, coz I've relisted now anyhow Blush

roosterroo · 03/10/2012 21:42

I have a bidding war on my hands Grin

mygirllollipop · 05/10/2012 10:14

My total so far is £174.60. Going to re-list what didn't sell and have a few additional bits to list.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 06/10/2012 23:08

I haven't been on here before but am so pleased with myself tonight, i have made £492.16 since 12th September, i needed to share Grin

Lots gone for really good prices tonight and still have more listed and more to sort and list.

Christmas is paid for!!

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 07/10/2012 20:54

I couldn't wait for a free listing weekend, and i've started 6 of my 7 things at 99p anyway.

So 7 things are on now. Fingers crossed they sell!

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 07/10/2012 21:46

Had to refund the buggy buyer Sad so my total is down by £260!!

On the plus side 3 of my fixed price items have sold in the last couple of days Grin so was worth me listing that way.

I'm off to work out my current total after taking off the buggy sale.

BlueberryHill · 08/10/2012 10:14

Up to £110, plus I did a NNS last week, will take a couple of weeks to get the cash in but hopefully should be £30. Not sure what else I have to sell though, will need to have a good route (sp?) through some cupboards and find some old toys to sell.

BabylonPI · 08/10/2012 10:50

Well I'm well over the £300 mark now after postage Grin

The kids Xmas boxes are getting better by the day GrinGrin
