I won auction by mistake and I don't want to pay

I stupidly bid on a piece of clothing without noticing that it was 2 sizes too small.
I realised after I won the auction.
I asked seller if she'd be so kind to do second chance offer to other bidders.
Apparantly this happened but there was no response and now seller has sent me an invoice insisting I pay.

If I was selling something and a buyer quickly said they'd made a mistake I'd let them off the hook. I wouldn't insist they.

I know iabu, technically, but I think she is a bit too.

What's the worst that will happen if I just don't pay. Negative feedback?

If she cancels she can get her final fees back - if she does a non paying bidder case seller gets the fees back just the same but buyer gets a strike.

I think ebay would see the winning bid as a contract. If there was no response and she relists I suppose she will be out of pocket for the fees.

for the record:

I knew the thing is a size 8 only by looking at the designers website after winning the auction. The size was listed as a 40, and in the description it said ITL40. I was thrown because in most of europe a 40 is a size 12, but, as I now know, in italy its an 8. I would normally ask for the actual garment measurements if I'm not sure, but I saw this auction at the last minute, so it was all a bit spur of the moment. I stand by my point about having to expect problems if you don't provide clear descriptions when listings. Ebay prompts you to do this.

as fergoose and others have fully explained, she won't be out of pocket

I'll live with my strike, my first in 8 years of busy ebaying

thanks for all the comments
