Aimsmum · 08/05/2011 14:53

Annoyed that I haven't looked out more stuff for the free listing weekend, but I am mostly starting things at 99p anyway, so not too much of a loss! All my stuff ends tomorrow, most things have at least a 99p bid, so quite pleased.

Aimsmum · 09/05/2011 14:41

Can you let me know how you get on with selling playstation games Pud, please, I have some that are years old (12 or so) sitting in a cupboard along with a playstation but wasn't really sure if they would sell or not.

All my items end tonight, all but 1 have a bid, so pleased with that. How is everyone else doing?

Vix1980 · 09/05/2011 15:09

I made £148 in the past week, im still waiting for £60 of it to be paid though, but cos i earned "too much " paypal in their wosdom have held my payments for 21 days, i hate ebay so much right now!!! with no job that was my income to pay some of my bills, so now im completely stuck!

KatyMac · 09/05/2011 21:06

Hi everyone; Aimsmum suggested you could do some hand holding as I just put my first things on ebay......I have 4 watchers & 1 bid

I'm raising money selling DD's stuff so she can go off to Summer School

I'm off to read your thread now

Tortoise · 09/05/2011 21:49

Katymac Hope your first items do well. Are you addicted to checking them for bids/watchers yet? Grin

OP posts:
KatyMac · 09/05/2011 21:53

Totally - why is no-one looking?

Aimsmum · 09/05/2011 21:54

I made £123 tonight, happy with that Grin

I have the ebay bug back now, so will need to get more on!

Katy you can link to your items if you want (if you don't mind people knowing your ebay name) might be people on the thread interested in what you have, get you a few more watchers Grin

KatyMac · 09/05/2011 21:57

Is that allowed? OK

I think this is really cute

KatyMac · 10/05/2011 19:47

I have only checked my summary about 28 times today

KatyMac · 10/05/2011 19:47

How would you sell a pushchair on eBay; would it be buyer collect?

Aimsmum · 10/05/2011 19:56

Haha, I get like that too. Your dolls house stuff is very cute. I like some of your clothes too, but they would be too small for my DD!

I think with the pushchair you would either have to do collection or courier, but I have never sold anything big before so not sure how you would go about getting the courier organised, sorry!

KatyMac · 10/05/2011 20:01

Possibly, but my DD (13) stopped wearing most of it at the end of last summer (skinny thing); which gives me a warped idea of how big they which I why I wrote all the age/height info on all of them

Hmm, do I put a reserve on for a double buggy?

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 10/05/2011 20:28

Updated some more tonight - a must for any Lego City fans - boys have had a big clear out ALL HERE

We've made £231 in the last 30 days and we need to get to £500 by the end of May so we're not doing badly :)

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 10/05/2011 20:31

KM - your buggy will sell for more if you can be bothered to get it delivered by courier, and you can offer buyer collect as well - we always make double when we've offered delivery for car seats and buggies/prams. Make sure you've got some good packaging though - bitter experience!

KatyMac · 10/05/2011 20:51

Really how would you pack (or indeed courier) a double buggy?

Tortoise · 10/05/2011 20:58

Must not buy girls clothes! Must not buy girls clothes! >

I have posted a stroller before with bubble wrap and brown paper. That wouldn't be strong enough for a double though. Would need a box or strong card well taped around it. Parcels2go are good couriers. Used them quite a few times with no problems.

I should never look when DS1 is looking over my shoulder! He wants some of the lego sets!

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 10/05/2011 21:37

Katy - We've packed with lots of bubble wrap, brown paper and bin liners (failure!) and more successfully with lots of cardboard (from plasma TV boxes) broken down and fitted and taped together - you can go to your local supermarket or DIY store and ask for their old boxes. We have an arrangement with a couple of local shops who give us all their flattened boxes. You basically need to cut and wrap the pushchair with the cardboard to fit and tape well over all the joins, having first bubble-wrapped and packed out any gaps with card or packing material - sounds harder than it actually is! It is a PITA but well worth it because you will definitely make more ££ if you post it.

I'd recommend Parcels2go or Hermes for collecting from you - you can check their price online before you list - make sure you know exactly how much it weighs and the rough dimensions too so that you get an accurate price. You may find like us that you still end up selling it locally and someone saves you the hassle! We always photograph, measure then pack & weigh our massive items before we've sold them and then we don't have the horror of having to pack things in a mad rush the day before we need to post them.

Tortoise - bid on the Lego, you know you want to Grin

Tortoise · 10/05/2011 21:41

Lol Dinosaurs. DS1 wants me too! I never bid until the end anyway! Don't want to push the price up too early. Grin

Do I want to post a dress to Poland? A lady emailed & asked if I would; am I being taken for a ride as I am new or just distrustful & mean?

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 10/05/2011 22:20

You can post to wherever you're happy with - personally I don't post outside of the UK now and that's only because the only things that have never arrived were posted overseas but I also know plenty of people who do and are happy to do so - I'd recommend that you post only on a signed for insured delivery where it will be easy to get your money back if it goes astray. Make sure your P&P for sending outside of the UK is shown at this higher price in your listings.

You can change your postage settings so that you only accept bids from countries you post to, so you can restrict it - it's under "Give buyers P&P details" if you revise your listing - there's a section called "Exclude postage locations" right at the bottom. HTH

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 10/05/2011 22:22

Already have lots of watchers on most of the Lego City stuff and they only went on tonight. Fingers tightly crossed for reaching target in the next 3 weeks as we have a hospital bill to pay.
