Just starting out on exploring this avenue after four failed attempts at IVF. It still feels like a large leap to make as I still had hope that I might be successful with my own eggs but starting to come to terms with this and now looking into alternate options.

My clinic works closely with IB in Spain, and I'd love to hear experiences from anyone who has been through a donor cycle with them. How did you find the whole process? What worked well and not so well? Any advice that you can share?

How are you all doing? Any news?
We just had our 10w4d ultrasound and both measured 11 weeks with great heartbeats. They were wiggling about all the time!
I am starting to feel a bit better but still very exhausted.

Congratulations, happy for you.
My journey hasn’t been easy. First lockdown then in October 8 days before FET transfer an ultrasound showed a polyp. So I had to have a polypectomy to remove it.
Started cycle again last Saturday and due for a scan next Wednesday. Fingers crossed it will be ok and I can go to Alicante for granger the week after.
Having said that I’m getting really agitated .
There’s hardly any flight going to Alicante and now Spain requires a negative PCR test prior to travel. Just the PCR yet is around £300-400!

I’m due to have treatment in Spain next month but having difficulty getting the pre treatment over here in particular the prostrap depot injection. Anyone know where I can go?
My nhs doc won’t do it and local fertility treatment centre won’t do it on the days instructed 22 or 23rd dec and I’m panicking now trying to get this done. Need help here I’m trying to manage my anxiety but all this is just making me worse. I know it’s better to conceive when happy and relaxed but I feel the clinic are not helping with that as I’m constantly organising tests sending off results photos of documents, feels like I’m in a panic !!!!

This must be difficult! Isnt there anyone in your neughbourhood who can place the depot? Do you allready have the prostrap?

So we have started the process and had my injection, taking tablets and due to go to Spain between 15th -22nd but we are in teir 4 and not sure if we can travel and if I can do I go alone or take my husband as my carer.
We know Spain is relaxing their ban in the next week or so.
Feel so hopeless can not get a straight answer from anyone we don’t want to book everything then get to airport only to be turned away.
I hope we get to go

This must be so stressfull! I remember flying to Spain in June for my frozen transfer. It was before the borders had opened and I went alone without my husband.
I brought a letter from IB explaining my reason for travel and a recent negative pcr test and had no trouble at all. But it was scary as I was not sure the Spanish patrol would let me through.

I'm really thinking about IB and have taken the first step with getting some more information from them. I have similar concerns others have had around what has been raised on this thread including:

travel to Spain during these times
passing their eligibility criteria for the donor embryo guarantee program ( I have a few small fibroids outside my uterus, last scan showed the biggest to be about 2cm; although I also had a heteroscopy recently showing completely clear womb cavity)

-How and the extent of the monitoring and medication protocol would work whilst I'm in the UK ...can I get the meds on NHS prescription?

General unknown... thanks for asking...I'm waiting for them to get back to me from my first contact.

Hi, I’m interested in IB as well for egg donation and have just contacted them for information. Please let me know how you get on as I’m also concerned about travelling in the next few months, if it will be possible and what tests I can have done here in the UK and perhaps just go for the transfer. I’ve also had a consultation with Barcelona IVF, does anyone have any experiences with them?

So we were due to fly on 26th, with Spain due to lift restrictions on 19th but now Spain have changed this date and now we can not go after we have booked all our flights etc !!! We have emailed the clinic to see what we can do.

@An0ther, that's a shame. I hope the clinic can reschedule - they should be given the circumstances outside your control. What is the new date Spain plans to lift their restriction? Please keep us posted.

I was thinking going back to Alicante in late Feb.
What are the current restrictions?

No travellers from the uk until feb but they have done this and changed the date twice now. We are not sure we will be able to change our dates with the flights we have already booked

Just an update Spain have change travel restrictions to 16th feb so we are having to change our plan again. Beginning to think we may have to seriously consider a uk clinic but not sure how much we owe the Spanish clinic if anything??? We just don’t know anymore

I was going to start my second cycle 2nd Feb. But after reading that Spain has extended travel restrictions again....
It feels like we never gonna get there....

Hi Everyone , me and my partner are looking to do the pregnancy Guarantee program using donor eggs, and we have our first Skype consultation on Wednesday with IB Alicante. We’ve just been turned down from Care Fertility for their refund programme as we have already had 3 rounds of DE ivf that all failed. Does anyone know if IB have strict guidelines on who they accept on their program? Thanks
