Consent order sealing wait time

Hi

Just wondering if anyone has any up to date experiences on the wait time for a judge to seal the consent order.

This has been such a painful, drawn out experience with my ex delaying, stalling and obstructing at every possible step that I am desperate to click that final order button that is ready and waiting for me!

Many thanks

Mark

See a thread not too long ago - financial consent order processing time - my ex’s solicitor uploaded it to the portal on 9th Feb. It was accepted on 20th Feb and approved on 4th March although I wasn’t notified until 8th as it was sent back to ex’s solicitor. Applied for final order on evening of 8th and it came through a couple of hours later.
The divorce phone line originally said they are taking 8 wks but it seems more like 4.
Good luck!

A couple of other people on my thread had similar times

Many thanks Jonathan - I'd missed that thread. That's not too bad a wait so hopefully closer to that rather than 8 weeks!

No, it was much quicker than I thought, hope yours is too

Me too, so anxious with waiting now. Abusive marriage, ex delayed everything. So close but seems forever away. Submitted 23/2, advised 6/3 sent to judge for consideration but not heard anything yet. My solicitor said originally should be 2-3 weeks but reading other posts seems to be taking a lot longer in some cases

Hope you hear soon Umbersnake.. the whole procees feels so drawn out.

I pushed really hard to get everything sorted out during the 5 month period so there wouldn't be any delay at this point but it was impossible to get her to do anything.

The only relief now is that she no longer has control over the process and can't delay it any further!

I understand completely. I’m just worried judge won’t accept the consent order

Likewise - I've actually given her everything - my 50% share of the house equity and she can keep her pension - we've been seperated 6 years and I don't need or want anything of hers.

I'll be so cross if the judge won't just accept my word and let us get on with it!

I believe it's quite rare for them to reject them though

I think they sometimes ask questions if it looks unfair don’t they . Let’s hope both of ours go through soon 🤞. Let me know if you hear anything

You might get some questions if it’s vastly unfair but it seems like they go through once you confirm that you are aware and still want to agree. Fingers crossed.

I really hope so, really struggling with this now

Last year ours was returned signed & sealed within 2 weeks. May have been as submitted the day final hearing scheduled, so judge May have used part of that time slot.

I like this thread. I am seriously hoping my consent order is ready to go this week as original draft was done in September waiting on ONE number from him which after much mucking about he has sent to his solicitor a couple of weeks ago. My final order button is waiting too! So very near the end if the COs are only taking 4 weeks.

Causing delays is the final bit of control for those who have made our lives so difficult

My ex delayed the consent order by a further 3 weeks simply for not returning a disclaimer to her solicitor that needed to be signed.

@nyorksdad mine too delayed every possible thing!!! It’s all about control unfortunately. It took him from the 6/12 to the 12/1 to accept the offer (albeit a day past the deadline), then didn’t actually complete the D81 until 22/2. I’m so stressed with it all , just want it all finished so I can move on with the kids.

Just an update my consent order was approved today, no questions and was an unequal split in my favour.
So it’s taken 25 days. Just pushed the button to apply for the Final Order.
good luck to you all with yours

Congratulations @UmberSnake - if you haven’t heard back already, you’ll probably get your final order any time now (unless your ex has got to do it too, in which case might be a little longer!)

Congratulations - really pleased for you!

Let us know how long it takes the final order to be approved

Hi, I'm a little confused.
I applied for my Consent order on 27th March and the emails suggests I will get an email "by the 22nd May 2024" with a hearing date for pronouncing consent order.
I called HMCTS yesterday they said can take up to 8 weeks also.
My question is. When they pronounce the consent order. Do I still have to wait 6w1d after that date or is it 6w1d from the date I submitted the consent order application?

I have a wedding booked for 12 June. If my consent order is not sealed in the next 4 weeks then the wedding date will have to be moved. I did not factor in this huge delay of nearly 2 months. There is no financial order or disagreement from STBX
