Waiting for conditional order to be approved

squishycat18 · 22/08/2023 14:38

I've waited the 20 weeks and applied for the conditional order August 17th which was a Thursday. It's now Tuesday next week and still nothing ... I've read many threads by people who say they got their approval 24, 48, 72 hours later. I'm assuming that's business days. The email I got back says I will hear from them "by 14th September". Anyone know how long it's taking for conditional orders to be approved around this time of year?

Mine took 2 weeks after I applied, final order took 24 hours

bevvy81 · 22/08/2023 15:05

I applied for mine on 28 Feb and it was read out in court on 20 March. Got the conditional order the next day via the online system & got an email. Hope this helps in some way

squishycat18 · 22/08/2023 15:37

@gogomoto I have a feeling mine will take that long too

@bevvy81 lucky you getting the approval a day later ... there's nothing particularly complex about my application so wondering why it's not coming sooner

Mine was read out in court today, I'm on tender hooks waiting for it! 😬🤞🤞

Jas683 · 22/08/2023 22:03

Mine took several weeks back in June.

bringoutthebranston · 23/08/2023 10:52

I am guessing this is one not applied on the portal? My financial order was uploaded on the 2nd August and then on 15th August my solicitor had email confirmation that it was now with a judge for consideration. she told me it should be sealed (or replied with more questions) within the week - in her experience. This means that by tomorrow I should hear back 😩Its the most stressful part for me as once its sealed, my STBEH has 14 days to transfer the funds to me so I can exchange on my new property. I was then told that the Final order is a matter of 24 hours to get approval.

Bemyclementine · 23/08/2023 22:56

@squishycat18 , @bevvy81 said she applied on the one the 28th Feb, it was in court 20th March and she got it through the day after. She didn't get it the day after applying.

I had a similar thread
I applied 4th August. The email said I'd have a response by 1st Sept. I had the response today - my application has been approved and will be read out in court 6th Sept.

It's tenterhooks, not tender hooks 😁https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/on-tenterhooks-origin-meaning-phrase

Cupcakekiller · 24/08/2023 07:38

Mine was emailed the day after it was pronounced in court 👍

Cupcakekiller · 24/08/2023 07:38

@Joystir59 I'm usually quite good at English! 😂

squishycat18 · 31/08/2023 16:03

@Bemyclementine glad you received yours recently!

Still waiting for mine .. coming up to 2 weeks now

Bemyclementine · 31/08/2023 19:03

I haven't got the actual order, just tge email telling me when it will be in court

bringoutthebranston · 01/09/2023 12:43

I am still waiting for mine to be sealed on the portal was told over 2 weeks ago it was sitting with the judge who picked up the case. Was then told yesterday by my solicitor that there is no news yet and its unusual as another one she put in the same day as mine, and is more complicated came back within the week... thanks for that!!

I'm so upset atm as in limbo cant exchange on my new house until I have the funds from Ex. savings was all in his name as he was a non-tax payer. living with parents again.. didnt expect to be doing this at 50 dont see any other way

squishycat18 · 14/09/2023 14:20

@bringoutthebranston that's so upsetting as you're so tied up until they get their act together ... I hope you've heard something by now ?

Well here I am Sept 14th and have heard absolutely nothing from the courts ... thought I'd wait until tomorrow to call them

OP posts:
Bemyclementine · 14/09/2023 14:55

@squishycat18 whatever we're you told? Did you do it online yourself? You should have had an email to say you will hear by X date. Then you'll get an email saying what the court date is. You'll get the order the day after the court date most likely.

squishycat18 · 14/09/2023 14:59

@Bemyclementine yes I did it myself ... I was told I would hear from them by today but nothing so far

I finally heard the order was sealed on Monday 11th so nearly 6 weeks after the submission and four weeks after the judge picked it up from the portal. The final order was granted yesterday and took about 6 hours! In the space of a week I am financially independent, divorced and ready to exchange on my new house. The stress of waiting for the order was the worst so far of the whole process. I hope you aren't kept waiting much longer @squishycat18

Bemyclementine · 14/09/2023 18:48

@squishycat18 that's really odd, I had an email before the expected date, giving me the court date. Have you checked online?

(Don't know what happened with my last post BTW, ignore first sentence!)

Bemyclementine · 14/09/2023 18:48

@bringoutthebranston that's great, must be an amazing feeling!!

@bringoutthebranston that's great, must be an amazing feeling!!

I’m not sure right now tbh very surreal. Will be very real when I’m in my house and first night on my own I guess. I need to remind myself of the difficult times and not the happy ones to move forward. Good luck to you all it’s a journey no one imagines when they get married but not always regrets. Xx

squishycat18 · 15/09/2023 19:34

@bringoutthebranston fantastic news I'm glad it's all gone smoothly for you after such an anxious wait !

OP posts:
squishycat18 · 15/09/2023 19:35

@Bemyclementine I called them and they said they are currently processing applications 2 days before the one I sent ... they said I would likely be waiting another two weeks :/

Hi squishy,

im currently in the same boat - with a wedding booked next March! 😞

did they say 2 weeks for what? Just to receive the email with the court date or 2 weeks for the court date to happen?

thank you

squishycat18 · 18/09/2023 12:36

@xxWelsh Hello there, they said 2 weeks to receive the email and then another few weeks for the actual court reading 😒

When are you expecting yours?
