From day of separation until Decree Nisi (spelling?).
I'm guessing 2 yrs is about average. Friend managed it in 4-5 months, though.

Can't remember exactly but from filing for divorce to Absolute was just under 6 months - all done ourselves online through .gov site and no solicitors involved.

AuntieMarys · 27/12/2019 13:19

Yes we did it ourselves

MashedSpud · 27/12/2019 13:23

10-11 months.

Two years as the family court in Norwich took forever and a day even though absolutely everything was agreed privately between us.

In the same position .. over three year so far contested hearing .. judge taking months to make a judgement .. then arguing over an order . The perils of divorcing a narcissist .. he’s in the family home and I’m still renting with my children :(

@Divorcemakesyoustressedandpoor
Hi, can u please provide more details as how n where its delaying. Im in a similar position, n still living wd him. This month I wanted to move out wd my kid. But if u r saying its taken 3 years.. Im not sure if I'd be able to sustain. Can u please help me to understand where it can delay.

15 months. Got my decree absolute yesterday (still bloody chuffed).

Did it myself but got solicitor to draw up finance paperwork.

Delays due to decree nisi taking 9 months to come through and due to ex not wanting to fill in form e.

Twobigsapphires · 05/01/2020 16:26

7 months from telling him I wanted a divorce to decree absolute. 3 months from me actually filing for divorce. Clean break. Property sold and moved out 2 months after divorce. We were living together the whole time.

JacquesHammer · 05/01/2020 16:27

Waited two years, did it ourselves. About 6 weeks from decree nisi to decree absolute

teachandsleep · 05/01/2020 16:29

3 months

okiedokieme · 05/01/2020 19:56

We are waiting two years probably though I did suggest I could file on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour, he's thinking about it - I kind of want it settled before I move in with my dp later this year but as I'm not planning on remarrying ever there's no actual reason to divorce even (we are still good friends)

okiedokieme · 05/01/2020 19:58

Ps plan is to file online no solicitor, not bothering with financial stuff as we have an independent agreement
