I got my decree absolute yesterday. I was sad and thoughtful and got pissed.

Today I feel unburdened. Free. Lighter.

Close to 2 years and Absolute should be through soon.

#ferriswheel, you have described my feelings.I had to divorce ex but don't feel gleeful about it.
Sadly he is still finding issues to drive conflict so legal process not at an end yet.

I would have liked to stay married and been in the 50% of marriages that worked.

Free. Like I’d grown wings and my new life would be colourful and happy.

It’s normal to feel a bit mixed about it though. I had many awful moment as it was going through. He was a nightmare to deal with but I married him with every intention of spending the rest of my life with him, I’d taken my vows incredibly seriously and we’d been together years so it definitely felt like a failure and a grieving process.

Mine came through on valentine's Day.Spoke to him on the phone.
We are still selling the marital home so not finished with him yet.It took 2 years in total so all it really meant was no more solicitors bills.
